Soft top? You can reach in above side windows and pull front roof clamps if I’m not mistaken and open the top. Or the side/rear windows. Hard top? Guess you could wait for cracks to get bigger, but hypothermia might have kicked in first.

Then I had to climb the mountain in search of reception and …
... then move the vehicle to that spot so you can unlock the doors and start the vehicle.
A nearby rock makes a great key too
... but a terrible vehicle ignition source. Sorry but in that situation it appears to me the only solution is to get a key/ FOB.

Buy a faraday pouch that is like $20 bucks for a few different sizes, then hide it in the fender wells of the Bronco or something or stuff it behind a bumper.

The keypad let me down 1 week after I purchased it. Thought it was a cool feature but when I found my card with the pin....the pin doesn't work. Reading around on the internet, looks like some Broncos were given another vehicle's card during assembly lol...

Your phone needs reception to get out to the Ford Pass app.

Then your Bronco also needs reception for it's internal Telematics to get the signal from Ford Pass to unlock the doors.

It doesn't go from your phone directly to the Bronco. Only the keyfob/keypad does that.

Before we poke the frozen bear too much, many modern cell phones these days have satellite messaging when out of service (though, no internet). So it could be possible to text the wife to bring a key and not be able to use FordPass app to unlock the doors.

However, if you DID have cell service in the area where you texted your wife - you could have saved some time by using the app to unlock your doors vs. waiting for her to drive the key out to you.

Regardless, this does serve as a good cautionary tale of "don't depend on the technology". It probably won't happen to me - but now I know it COULD. Forewarned is forearmed

Again, no - that won't work as the vehicle also HAS to HAVE cell service for the app to do anything. It's a two way cell communication requirement.

"The vehicle's confirmation, depends on a constant connection between your phone, the FordPass servers, and your vehicle's FordPass Connect modem."

That sucks. I got the keypad to be able to leave my keys in when biking or kayaking. I don’t trust the app to work as it has failed under normal circumstances.
My wife would have left me to the coyotes though so I’d be smashing a window or trying to flex it enough to get a stick in.
Similar situation, I got the keypad for use when boating or engaged in other outdoor activities when not wanting to carry a key fob or phone. My friends keypad was nice for locking stuff in his vehicle prior to a marathon, so we didn't have to carry any unnecessary items. Bummer if it's not reliable.

Ha soft top gang for the win. It would suck to have to crawl through the rear but I could do it.

This is my second Ford with a keypad and knock on wood, I have used many, many times over 25 years without any issues. The one exception during a very cold winter when my battery died.
But in a very remote area, I would take or hide a physical key for a peace of mind.

I have forgotten my keys inside my husband's Jeep. That's what I had to do. Crawl through the side window🤣

Sucks dude, but I'd smash a window over hiking down the mountain and starting a fire to stay alive surrounded by wild animals, especially with a kid. My wife would probably also tell me to smash a window when I asked her to drive 3 hours 😝.
If my wife had to drive 3 hours she would have smashed my window 😀

Reading comprehension, it's a thing........ 🫤
This Bronco6g forum seems to be exceptionally challenged. More so than any automotive board I've ever been on in the past 20+ years.
