NO, NO, NO, NO! I said it before, and I'll say it again!! We are doing the Godzilla not the coyote!
Found the guy that likes working on camshafts and lifters!
...unless we are talking about the Megazilla, then you have my attention.

If Ford builds a factory 2-door with the Coyote and Manual Transmission, I'll put down a deposit right now.

If they make it emissions compliant, I'd love to know Ford's actual reasoning for not offering it from factory.

With that said, it's cool but I still don't see the need aside from to appease my caveman V8 noise desires.

it's the free lunch you get with the shorter levers force ( low gears) against the longer levers resistance ( big tires) all the while keeping the engine in The Sweet Spot that you seem to avoid with your turbo lag you complain about.... ever tried downshifting🤣😂😅
It was a rhetorical question. I understand deeply gearing, final drive reductions and torque vs rpm and how that all plays together to get power to the wheels.

Given the very broad torque curve of our turbo engines, said "sweet spot" is quite broad.

However, there is no such thing as a free lunch. It almost sounds like you acribe to the often stated mis-truth that regearing (say via a larger FD ratio) makes a vehicle faster. With said modification some contests will fare better and others worse, but across multiple gears you won't gain anything. Of course you won't since you aren't making more power.

With an automatic, even with paddles, downshifting doesn't mitigate turbo lag.

It seems like you've probably enjoyed a high revving NA engine (even better with a dual clutch). This in contrast to a turbo with a slush box is simply night and day. So I expect you have experienced this, but you're speaking like you haven't.

I understand all of what you just put down and I've been spending a lot of time (35k miles) behind the same engine that's in your BRaptor the 3.0 in my Ranger Raptor and I disagree, the RPM is directly related to Turbo lag!!! make no mistake you keep it in a lower gear and the Turbo lag is completely gone anything over 2500 RPMs and it lights off immediately! no lag. So obviously I was referring to keeping your RPMs higher, not that you should downshift and expect that to give you a faster response time, you should already have downshifted. Anyway I don't subscribe to whatever it is you're saying because the "faster" word that you describe is relative... as I've said before in my examples we're not trying to go 200 or 300 miles an hour here, if you figure out the math on one of these tall gear ratios with a decent revving engine and the overdrive in that 10r80 ratio ,you'll see that nearly 200 miles an hour is possible in theory. There's no way that vehicle would that super tall gearing with 10 speeds will accelerate as fast (to the same speed) , as a vehicle that tops out at 120 miles an hour with the final gearing in the Top Gear. So... not talking about what is faster, but what accelerates faster... anyway I'm glad we kind of see it the same way and I was just poking fun by the comment about the free lunch ...the trade-off is you don't get the top speed of the 200 mph and free lunch is the increased acceleration because of the trade off.

As far as my previous vehicles nearly the same as you, 3 different Porsche....the one with the worst turbo lag was the fastest overall. another reason to run shorter gears like the ralley cars ALL do ( they dont subscribe to yer theory either) with the ratios as close as possible, simply so that the RPM does not drop below the turbo lag threshold when up shifting. or when releasing the throttle briefly and re-application . like when entering a curve or turn.

I do agree that other engine power controls like baja mode, or dual clutch transmissions, can and do mediate some of the drawbacks that a too-tall geared vehicle has... let's face it here the overall gearing is set up initially in favor of economy and not engineered for acceleration. So this OEM gearing can be altered in the favor of acceleration.

plenty of real world situations in racing where the guy that is perfectly geared to hit redline (max power and max speed) right before the end of the straightaway, just when it's time to lift throttle and apply brake..., is faster, nearly ALWAYS, around the track than the guy with improper gearing and still has 1000Rpms left at the end of the same straightaway....and faster to the checkered flag.

I tried to read this entire thread and I don't think this was covered, but would they swap this out for a 2.3 6th gen with a manual transmission? The manual and a NA v8 would be a lot of fun.

1000%. I'd give up 4wd if I had to, or just get a 5spd

Yall can buy into the EV hate propaganda if you want. Personally, I think it's funny 99.9% of people carry around a lithium battery in their pocket every single day but they still don't think they're safe. The numbers don't lie, EVs catch fire MUCH LESS by percentage vs ICE vehicles. LMFAO "toxic fire", all vehicle fires are extremely toxic with all the plastics, paint, rubber, and metals burning.

I, for one, will be first in line for an EVB and will LOVE making other vehicles look feeble and silly off-road (and won't hesitate to take it through fresh water crossings).
You for one, would be at the front of a very short line!

Has anyone ever seen a current generation Hummer, Rivian or euro whatever EV suv actually on a trail? I have not, and did not see any in Moab either.

Maybe the eventual second hand owners will actually wheel them 🤷‍♂️
