I have a 2022 Bronco that I flat tow. Have never had any issue following the procedure straight out of my manual in the rig.

In the Bronco 6G Flat Tow Group on Facebook, a member posted instructions that look to be out of a 2025 manual that include extra steps pulling a fuse if you use supplemental braking system.

https://www.fordservicecontent.com/...A&div=f&vFilteringEnabled=False&buildtype=web

I have a supplemental brake system installed on my Bronco.

If something has changed in the 2025 to require this then ok. Or, has Ford failed to update our manuals in the earlier year model broncos?
What is the right procedure?

Again I have yet to have any problems following what is in my 2022 onboard manual.

If you haven’t had any problems, then I would continue doing what you were already doing already and follow your own owners manual.

I fail to see how a 2025 owner's manual would have anything to do with a 2022 model.

There is a know anomaly that has happen to my 2021 a few times and to other's that have reported it in this forum.
The Electronic Brake Boost will become active, causing the Bronco brakes to lock up when the axillary brake system calls for braking assistance.
The original brake system software fix turns off the EBB when you but the Bronco into Neutral Tow Mode.
I believe Ford has brought back the fuse pulling fix, from the original TSB before the software download, to cover this anomaly.
There is no know cause as to why or when this will happen.
My aux brake system releases brake peddle pressure in Bronco as soon as I let up on the the brake peddle in the motorhome so the Bronco brakes do not stay locked up.
Like I said this only happens one in a while with no set pattern and it come and goes.

I have experienced issues while towing 2023 Bronco where the EBB initialized for some reason. When motorhome brakes are engaged the toad brakes experience lock up of brakes due to the fact the toad braking system is calibrated to no EBB assist. Not fun... I started pulling fuses after it happened to us twice. Very random but seemed to happen on rough roads. Can't prove that correlation but if I ran over rumble strips it would turn EBB back off . Obviously if they have it in the 2025 manual more than a few people have had a problem. I probably wouldn't mess with it unless you have the issue.

Apparently Ford has admitted the software fix didn't work and now recommend the failsafe fuse pull. I have a pre 25 2.3 with vacuum assist so it's fine, but the 25 2.3s have electric boost so they would require the patch too.

I had a 2022 badlands sas. Pulled great for thousands of miles and many connections and disconnects. Worked great until I was 5 days drive from home and the tranny was trashed. Ford blamed me and thus I got billed $6,300 for repairs and a trip of a lifetime ruined. Since then bought a car hauler and refuse to take the risk anymore. Search this website for MANY people with similar issues. Everyone is rolling the dice on auto transmission broncos. You have been warned. Ford has totally burned my bridge on bronco as a flat tow option.

I have a 2025 and was never mentioned to me about a fuse pull. Plus it doesn’t say on google or YouTube either. I will be trying it out next weekend though.

Update owners manuals do not match. The HTML version says to pull fuses. The PDF version does not say pull fuses. Guess I have got to get someone from Ford to tell me what to do.

Ford has updated software issues that elevate that issue with braking systems in flat tow. If you have had no issues and keep you system updated your going to be fine. There is a lots of misinformation out there about flat towing the Bronco.

I use the procedure you have inserted there on my 2023 Big Bend. Just flat towed it last week. Looks good to me!

Believe the pull fuses stuff applies to the 2.7L engine with different brakes... I have the 2.3L automatic and have never had to do anything other than the procedure in your post.

How come I only see your posts about destroying the transmission? You sure it wasn't your fault and you are just pissed?
