How much more do we see Ford limiting the 2 door? Is there a chance it goes away entirely ?

The Jeep XJ came in a 2 door. Not popular, too many lazy children.

The wheelbase was the same between 2 doors and 4 doors.

And I still have dreams of finding a mint 2-door XJ with the 4.0 and manual.

The rear doors on a 4-door XJ were useless for anything but children, and they better not have big feet.

I had a 4-door manual XJ when I was in the Navy and we ran all over VA and NC in that thing with four to five adults ranging from 5’8” to 6’3” and no one ever complained. I have to tell that to my wife when she worries our two 11 year old boys and 6 year old girl will get cramped. The XJ was great though. I put a 6.5” lift on it and 33s. I should have kept it but that’s all in the past now.

For sure, they didn’t have the most open entry/exit to the back seats. I was really just sharing experiences from the good old days when you didn’t have to have the interior space of a limo to transport your buddies around.

I'll bite on this topic...

No real answer, only a discussion point, but car manufacturers are in the business to do one thing; make money and they sell vehicles to do so.

That's the fact statement above, so the remainder is mere opinion. Like others, I'm glad I got the 2 Dr that I did, when I did and placed my reservation in July 2020, took delivery in February 2023. Yeah.

Basically I have the Stroppe without the paint job and in the cool color of Eruption Green. Was a shock that Ford even offered a package like I have, but I'm so glad they did. If Ford did not offer what I have, I would not own a Bronco, period. It was either my build or a 2 Dr Braptor (Warthog, goddamit!). No, a 2 Door Wrangler was not in the cards, so my moar door would not be a Bronco and still would not.

All that said, enthusiasts are taken for granted by all car manufacturers for several reasons and many of these I can understand from a business standpoint. My purchase was not practical in any fashion; it was all passion as I'm a car guy as many here are as well.

2 Doors don't sell as much because just look around. Most Americans drive station wagons disguised as SUVs for reasons they try to convince themselves they either need, even if only once or twice, or they think it makes them look like.... somethinganother. So, what's a car manufacturer to do? Well, they mostly go the path of least resistance, same with paint colors. Truth is, most people are not interesting at all, nor are most things they make decisions on.

Every blue moon a car manufacturer hits a homer. Ford did with Bronco and throughout its history has several times, but there is also the fact that Ford can go from Sugar to Shit, quickly and in spectacular fashion. Point here is, strike while the iron is hot, cause when it goes cold, it's a cold, wet noodle.

I''m grateful for what we have had and have now. Ford also just revealed a "concept" of a 2 Dr Braptor, so doubt they'd do such a thing if they were deciding to kill the 2 Dr.

Let’s be honest, accept for actually building the Bronco, has Ford done anything that makes sense? Even the Bronco reservation/ order system turned into an all time fiasco. IMO the driving factor for every decision Ford makes today is an attempt to get out from under the massive EV investment. As for the two door Bronco, it takes no additional cost to build a two door. True they ell at a lower percentage, but that should have zero reason for limiting that model to certain trims. Another blunder by their current CEO. Henry is rolling in his grave.

The frames, body panels, windows, seats and many other components are completely different People need to stop thinking businesses can conform to every consumers tastes and habits. Especially when it comes to vehicles. While enthusiasts can keep a brands name alive they can't keep a brand afloat alone. So the 2 dr enthusiasts may have been a major reason the Bronco came back, the 4dr crowd is what allows it to make it profitable. And we also need to stop thinking that all 2dr owners are enthusiasts or hard core off readers. Most are not and rarely take them off road. They just like the look of the 2dr better.

Which will happen, especially on the Base. $40k for a 2025 or $31k in 2022, with the only change being the 12” screen….and the 2DR is the same price as the 4 DR!

I think the 2 doors are pretty cool, and if I didn't have a son that was handicapped I might own one instead of a 4 door. However, I think the 2 door offering Ford has for 2025 is probably about right. If you're looking for a lower end 2 door, get a Base and add the options you want. Want something with more features, move up to the Badlands. Want something that has it all, get the Stroppe.

This story is going to be unpopular with the 2 door crowd. I recently had my Bronco into the dealer. It was there for 2 weeks. When I dropped it off, they gave me a loaner. It was a new 2024 2 door Big Bend. I had around 200 miles on it. After 4 days they called me and asked if I could bring it back and trade if for another loaner. Someone had called them and wanted to come test drive it. When I took it back, I parked in front of the service area. The service writter told me they were pulling around the new loaner for me to take. To my surprise, it was another brand new 2024 2 door big bend. They had to take the Monroy out of the window and put a dealer plate on it. It had 12 miles on it.

I told the service writer I was surprised they were using brand new Bronco's as loaners. His response was that they couldn't give the 2 doors Bronco's away so the dealership decided to use them as loaners.

Maybe this is a location thing. Maybe it's how the Bronco's were spec'd (non-Sasquatch). Who knows.

You mean it costs more to have the 4dr production line but they make more profit off it?

I heard Ford is working on a new version of the 2 door Bronco for 2026, It will be called, the Ford Unity to Customers (or F.U. Customers). It will be a 2 door (obviously) colored in rust (a special treatment will be done to the aluminum panels), but it will have no top, no interior, no engine (to give owners the option to add whatever they want), no wheels, no tires, etc. all for a mere $349,950! They can produce all the ones they want but will be limited!

It doesn’t cost extra. Ford already makes the components you listed. They produce a two door.The frame, windows , doors etc which they already produce can be made available on every trim .
