If FOMOCO reads this, I’m begging for the 5.0 Coyote as an option. And not some special edition, overpriced truck that the idiot dealers will markup. Just an option on all trim levels. This would make the perfect SUV and they would sell like crazy.

Keep the other engine offerings, but a true car guy knows there is no replacement for displacement. And not even from a speed standpoint, just a bigger engine that doesn’t have to rev as high to get the power needed to do work. Unfortunately, this topic is heavily rooted in politics, and all I’m gonna say is now is the time to get these out there. Anyway, just a simple plea to the powers that be, because if so, take my money.

Absolute best case--and probably not even this--it will be a 60th anniversary special edition. Limited edition, actually.

And maybe they'll just outsource 60 of them to a third party to build.

The first sentence evoked an empathetic chuckle, but the second unleashed a furious cackle that echoed throughout the neighborhood.

Thank you for the laughs.

Why the Coyote? Just bring back the 4.9 liter OHV V-8? torque lower in rev range compared to Coyote, it’s smaller compared to the Coyote by a “wide” margin, has huge AM parts availability, it’s a motor that was in Broncos of yore…etc. give it forged internals from the factory. Plus they sound better than an OHC 5.0

Only because it’s what they currently have to offer. If I had my way, I’d bring back a carbureted 351 Windsor with no computer controls. 😅. But that’s impossible, however the Coyote is slightly more possible if Ford would get off their asses. Like I said, now is the time to do so before everything swings back the other way.

IMHO, Ford is absolutely killing it with the margins they're making on the higher trim level Broncos - perhaps especially so on the Raptor. No doubt the dealers are also damn happy too as up until recently, they've been enjoying non-trivial ADM's. Yeah, so I think we'll see a V8 but it's going to be called the Raptor R and the feeding frenzy will continue where everyone wins but the consumer.

But it's a V8, and 2010-2014 came with the 5.4 liter. I'm pretty sure if they put any V8 in the Bronco it would be a miracle.
Actually, the 2010 was the 5.4, and with the issues they were having, which quickly switched to the 6.2 late 10 or early 11.

The R motor is specific to the R, and can’t even be special ordered for a Raptor.

But I agree, I just don’t see an 8 in a Bronco.
