V-6 Manual Transmission

Not only will she have a hard time finding one to test drive at a dealer (There is not one within 500 miles of me) , ordering a 25 with a MT will also be a challenge. Early MT orders that got scheduled to be built last week were all pushed back to late April build dates (and hopefully not pushed back again), and later MT orders are not being scheduled any time soon.

I get the feeling the manual transmission may get phased out of these vehicles. Doesn't look like they are going to build many for the 2025 model run. Mine was ordered early November and still unscheduled.

I don't think so. They just released a new part number for the transmission and the synchros that have the common issues. So It seems that they are trying to fix the current problems. I don't see them doing that if they planned to phase them out. It may be the opposite and might mean they just don't have the parts supply to start producing them yet.

Unlike a prior trans version/part number change (around 1.5 years ago) that appears not to have addressed the noise issue, do you think this latest is aimed at addressing it? Or is it too early to tell?

No way to know unfortunately. Only time will tell

Another 2dr/7mt owner - Find one to test drive, new or used...She won't look back.
Bonus: 330hp/385tq with the Ford Performance tune, but ya gotta run Premium.

Can’t wait for a real tune though, got bolt ons waiting to be utilized

Hello Bronco Family!

My sister (a current Jeep Wrangler owner), is seriously considering trading in her 2018 Jeep for a new Bronco!! However, she has one huge obsticle, and thought she may have found a solution, but now not so sure. She wants a V-6 manual transmission!! We were told it does not exist, so she figured she would be in a Jeep forever. But, then she spotted one, ordered from a dealer in Connecticut. It says 2.7 liter V-6, 7-speed manual transmission in the description, but when she looks at the sticker, it says 10-speed automatic. Question is, do they exist or is there a way to custom have one built??

The good news is the 2.3 L four-cylinder eco-boost will torch anything available with a manual in a Jeep so she should not be concerned about that.

Manual is only 4 cylinder, but ford tune will put it basically in line with the 2.7 6 cylinder. I have the 4 with the tune and a manual. I got my pro cal for just about $500 and installed it myself in the driveway. Price has gone up it seems, but my 2.3 is now 315-330HP and 385lb-ft from the literature.

I suppose but they did remove the manual from the Mustang Ecoboost when it received the new dual injection 4-cylinder claiming the take rates were low. I imagine the take rate on manual Broncos is even lower than it is on Mustangs.

Which to me is strange. My favorite features with the Bronco are the things that buyers don’t want. The soft top and the manual transmission. If you don’t have those, you’re missing out.

The automotive market is catering less and less to enthusiasts. These manufactures are run by bean counters that don't know a piston from a spark plug. No doubt in my mind that the only reason Ford even offers a manual transmission with the Bronco is because Jeep offers one. If Jeep didn't, Ford wouldn't have. With the Charger and Camaro going away it made things easy for Ford to pull the plug on the manual for entry level Mustangs.

1000% true that Ford would get rid of the m/t if Jeep did. Glad I got mine when I did!

Seems there is an increasing desire for a more passive driving experience, to the point of some vehicles taking over the driving, and that may play a part in lack of manual trans appeal. You can't phone it in with a manual, you have to pay attention to things and do stuff.

Let's just accept it. Those of us on this forum probably do NOT represent the majority market of the automobile industry. The MT will not get mated to a big block engine. Heck, big block engines are dinosaurs.
My wife and I learned to drive in the late 1970s. It was a different time. Any opportunity to drive was an adventure. (I taught my sons how to drive manual, but none of their friends even knew what that meant.) Today, I still feel like any drive (especially in my Bronco) is an adventure -- even to the grocery store 1.5 miles away.
However, in my suburban neighborhood, I am shocked at how frequently my friends and neighbors have their groceries delivered or Uber Eats bring them subs from the pizza shop less than a mile down the road.
@indio22 this leads me to think regarding your "phone it in" comment, maybe people would prefer their phone drive them where they need to be. Is that why every new car has either Android Auto and Apple CarPlay built into the infotainment?
So, I have accepted that I am a dinosaur. My Bronco might be the last new vehicle I will ever buy. I am grateful I got one while they were still made the way this dinosaur drives.
As my great grandfather would say, "Giddy up, horsey!"

Y'all aren't wrong, however I hope they don't go away for good. I can see it from both sides. I love my manual Bronco, and have a manual Focus as well. But with that being said my wife's '24 Lincoln Corsair has Blue Cruise and man that makes for a nice relaxing road trip when we want it. It's about as "self-driving" as I really want to get. Still have to pay attention which I like.

I live in CT and drive a 2DR, MT - if they had a V6 I would have purchased it! Don't think there is a unicorn out there?

She should test drive the 2.3 MT I was worried that it would be underpowered but it's not.

Yeah, as someone who came from the Jeep V-6/manual both the JK version and the Pentastar in the JL. The Bronco has way more power and is more fun to drive as a manual than the JL, that's mostly because the JL's clutch is extremely vague and problematic.

That was a bummer for me to find out as well. I think Ford doesnt offer it because they would have to spend more money on R&D to create a transmission for the 2.7. I assume the one in the 2.3 is more suited for that powerplant and cannot be an easy swap to the 2.7.

Because I live in CO and being at a much higher elevation compared to sea level, I opted for the v6 for more power. Its insane the power loss in vehicles once you get to 8-10k feet elevation... If I was still around sea level, I would have opted for the 4cyl with the manual transmission. Alot of people have been very happy with the power for what it is and the transmission shifts nicely. I hear its more like a sports car shifter not a sloppy long throw like you except from a manual truck.
