V-6 Manual Transmission

Hello Bronco Family!

My sister (a current Jeep Wrangler owner), is seriously considering trading in her 2018 Jeep for a new Bronco!! However, she has one huge obsticle, and thought she may have found a solution, but now not so sure. She wants a V-6 manual transmission!! We were told it does not exist, so she figured she would be in a Jeep forever. But, then she spotted one, ordered from a dealer in Connecticut. It says 2.7 liter V-6, 7-speed manual transmission in the description, but when she looks at the sticker, it says 10-speed automatic. Question is, do they exist or is there a way to custom have one built??

No, they do not exist, unfortunately. It was a misprint in the ad on the dealer website, most likely. I have seen a few of them here and there over the past few years...it happens.

I suspect too much torque in the V6 and the current 7 speed manual transmission is not strong enough.

2.3 liter with the manual transmission already existed with the Mustang so that was an easy way for Ford to make a Bronco with a MT option. There has not been a MT option on any Ford product with the 2.7 so Ford is not going to engineer that for a few more sales.

As stated, V6 with manual doesn't exist on the Bronco however the 2.3 with manual does and makes more power and torque than the Jeep turbo 4 and V6.

Jeep - turbo 4 270/296, V6 285/260
Bronco - 2.3 300/325

Yep, try driving the 2.3L with manual before dismissing it. One of the nicest shifting modern manuals out there.

Has your sister test driven the 2.3 manual. If not, she should. It's like 30 HP less. I pull a 3500 Lb. trailer with no problem.

I drove a Jeep V6 manual before I test drove my Bronco. Once I drove the 2.3 manual Bronco it was over. It wasn't even close. No regrets. I love this truck!

V6 manual doesn't exist. But, don't write off the 4 banger just cuz it's a 4 banger. The 2.3 makes plenty of power to move the bronco, and the 7mt is flat out awesome. It's a blast to drive.

@zookeeper , like your sister, I ran into the same problem while shopping for my Bronco last summer and fall. Multiple times, I drove for an hour or more to test drive what was confirmed by phone but simply did not have inside the Bronco.
However, your sister might enjoy the Bronco's 2.3 MT even better than her Wrangler. I ordered my 2.3 MT, and like so many that have posted, it's fantastic and I have no regrets. Also, tell her the specs that @Lowcountry Bronco posted. The math is evidence too hard to ignore.

I own a 2.3 with the m/t and a Jeep Wrangler V6 with the m/t and the Bronco blows the doors off of the Wrangler. Tell you sister to go drive one.

Good luck finding a MT Bronco to test drive.

I struggled a lot with this, and in the end opted for V6 because it's quieter and felt better than the V4. But I'm a bit disappointed. If they paired the V6 with a manual transmission, I'd have gone with Badlands for that over OBX, so they would've sold me a higher trim, too.
