Did you do anything with the turbo blow off valve? I can hear it. Also, are you intentionally in manual mode in the first 2 videos? I assume the phone shaking is from the bucking of the bronco

We had a similar issue with our expedition that went undiagnosed for at least a year because it wouldn’t throw a code and didn’t always happen. When it finally got bad enough we got a check engine light but it would be gone the next time we started the vehicle. They were finally able to diagnose and replace a VCT solenoid. It was also jerky like your videos and the boost gauge would max out but it seemed bogged down. When the rpms got up past 3k it finally started accelerating. Everything has been good since.

Took the car to the workshop I’ve been dealing with and they said that indeed it might be the VCT solenoid, gonna take tomorrow to my dealer to actually make sure though

Hopefully that’s all it is and you’ll be back on the road in no time. I had posted a few times on the Expedition forum about the issue but they went mostly ignored. After a lot of searching across many forums I felt pretty confident that was the issue. It seems to be a fairly common problem with the 3.5 eco. I would have replaced it/them myself but at that point my wife and I just wanted it back on the road. Good luck.

You aren't giving nearly enough information for someone to help. I'm not sure what you were driving before, but if you had a manual shift naturally aspirated car, there are no throttle response delays. With a 10-speed automatic with turbos, you have to wait 3 seconds before your car can downshift 3 gears and spool up at least one turbo. It's brutally slow and sometimes unsafe.

I don't know why anybody "wants" a car with turbos, other than better gas mileage for the same power. Combining turbos with automatic transmissions further disconnects the driver from the road. The driving experience of a naturally aspirated engine is so much better.

if that's your problem, they're easy to replace on the 2.7 in the F150s. Before my buddy got his black widow, he had to replace them on his ecoboost.

Sadly it turned out to be way worse than I thought, dealer told me that it’s a transmission problem I probably didn’t keep my eyes on the temps while dune bashing. Lesson well learned I guess

Not doubting the dealer, but I feel transmission would throw some codes. My duramax alison would lose its marbles occassionally and would always throw some tranny codes. If you get any more details from the dealer, please share. We'll be curious.

A whole transmission, I feel like the dealer just wants my money because I voided my warranty. I’ll try to research a little more and move to other workshops maybe it’ll be something smaller hopefully.

Exactly, we tried to look for some codes but there was absolutely none. Is the dealer trying to rip me off? Are they actually correct? I don’t know
