I would guess your APIM is not at the latest software level if you still have the rolling rocks.
Laaaame.

However, updates do typically bring fixes, but sometimes, we lose the little things.
I'll send Ford my VIN and dealer info to leave some feedback to them lol

Are the updates head unit specific or agnostic to which unit you have?

Even the very latest update still doesn’t have the rolling rocks. I think it’s probably gone for good.
Maybe I'm an outlier, but I've had every auto-update they have released and I have not lost the rolling rock welcome screen.
Sometime in the last couple of updates I now have the Auto-Start save feature. So I don't have to press the button every time now, it just saves my previous setting

You may have every update that has been sent OTA, but that doesn’t mean you’ve received every update available or that your APIM is actually up to date completely. Updates come at different times to different vehicles. Just because it says up to date doesn’t mean it necessarily is.

Also there is no Ford update that saves the previous auto start/stop setting

The last update I received was version 10.1.1. Is that the latest? Also, it doesn't have a date as to when the update was actually installed, so it could have been some time ago. I think knowing the date installed would be helpful.

EDIT:

Actually found the info I was looking for in my Ford account. Don't know if it is the latest though

Odd, something happened on mine in last couple weeks which allows the setting to save.

There’s probably an issue with your stop/start system or something preventing it from activating. I can assure you it wasn’t purposely done during an update.

Mine does that, but I've got ProCal, which I think is supposed to. Maybe that's why I don't have the update that removes the rocks.

Procal only affects the PCM. Shouldn’t have any affect on the APIM version or any other OTA updates
But yes, some with the procal can leave auto start/stop off.

Finally checked the update at the bronco. No, the rolling rock start up has not come back with this update.
May have to resort to the option from @indio22

Just got an email from Ford about getting updates. When I went to the link to get started I get a message that it’s been over three months since I have received an update.

The build date of my WT was 11/24, so my guess is there haven’t been any updates since it was built.

Sure enough I attached a battery tender and my battery is definitely below 80%.

Now it has been cold here and I have my seat heaters on almost all of the time, and I did take a short trip today with a couple of stops so that may account for the low reading.

So I will keep the tender on overnight and see if I get any updates.
