Odd, something happened on mine in last couple weeks which allows the setting to save.

Maybe I'm an outlier, but I've had every auto-update they have released and I have not lost the rolling rock welcome screen. Sometime in the last couple of updates I now have the Auto-Start save feature. So I don't have to press the button every time now, it just saves my previous setting

Is your front defrost on? Having the front defrost on, and only the front defrost on with no a/c, will disable the auto-start-stop.

I use mine quite a bit while off-roading. I use the overhead and the predicted tire path screens for line choices. Front camera is crucial for seeing whats in front when cresting a steep incline. Its like having an onboard spotter.
