When I went to shut off my 2024 Badlands this evening the display told me I had an update and needed to select a time for the update.

I had my Bronco set to update daily at 1am so I was a little confused. When I checked the Bronco I saw that the software update scheduling was set to off.

now when I looked at the ford pass app I see the note on the screen shot attached.

anyone else have this. Any ideas what the updates are?

thanks.

Thanks. I’ll provide an update tomorrow as it’s supposed to update tonight at 1 AM local time.

No problem. Also, don’t expect it to really tell you what the update even did other than some generic message. Ford doesn’t really release change logs or specifics about what an update changed.

I got that message too. It said 1 am Mon thru Thur on mine. I'd rather it just update tonight. I saw the alert in the app too but I couldn't get it to do the update from there.

Curious, I haven't had an update since turning off data. I still have the Rocks to Bronco animation... If I turn on the data to get the update, does it download my driving data? I just don't like being the "product", when I purchased the vehicle.

Let me know if it brings back my rolling rocks start up screen and I might consider it.
Even the very latest update still doesn’t have the rolling rocks. I think it’s probably gone for good.

Na these updates are for modules to help better the bronco. the window one was huge when it was for the auto up/down. They're no taking you driving data, and you can choose to have a lot of restricted in the app, but then you loose features.

i am a huge fan of not being tracked for driving speed/hard braking etc. those updates are not that stuff.

I turned off auto updates within days of buying my Bronco. Will it let me know when updates are available? I check every now and then in the vehicle, but so far it just shows no updates available. I’m not having any issues so not too concerned about it. Just curious.

Even the very latest update still doesn’t have the rolling rocks. I think it’s probably fine for good.
Huh. That's kinda sad.
I've still got it with all my updates installed.
I did however manually select it in Forscan when I was messing with it years ago. I wonder if that setting change helps.
I've still got them on start up and shut down, on both screens.

As you create this message, you are the product.

I will say, the first thing I notice when I get in the Bronco is the rolling rocks animation. Not because it's a stunning piece of cinematography, but because it studders and stops and runs all janky. Once in a blue moon it will play smoothly, but most times it's like watching a three legged dog climb the stairs.

That said, I would miss it if it were gone.

Yeah I don’t understand why some still have it and some don’t.
I had it up until yesterday. I was a bunch of updates behind, so I just did them all at work manually. And now the rolling rocks are gone.
it doesn’t bother me at all, just interesting.

I did quickly check forscan out of curiosity, but my splash screen already had Bronco selected. Changing it to a different one, then back to Bronco still didn’t revive the rolling rocks 🤷‍♂️

I would guess your APIM is not at the latest software level if you still have the rolling rocks.
