it probably has to do with if you have a ford performance authorized dealer near by. my local Corwin dealer isn't authorized and would require me to drive 40 minutes to get the parts, but the accessories site allows me to ship in stead.

Does it say anywhere the weight it can handle? for 37's? How does it compare functionally to the IAG or Turn Offroad ones?

But this is the same brace and hinges that come on the Ford Bronco Raptor. Raptor comes with 37" BFG KO3, which is about 15-30 lbs heavier than the stock tires (depending on your stock tire). And because it is an OEM component on the Raptor, it likely went through all of Ford's design and validation processes. They have to provide a factory warranty on Raptors, so they have a vested interest in making sure the brace is stout enough and they're not stuck warrantying a bunch of Raptors.

Before this kit was released, I personally eyeballing the RTR Spare Tire Carrier. Super pricey, but they sell upgraded vehicles that are sold at Ford dealerships and still retain the full 3 yr/36k mile warranty. Usually a good sign they're confident in their product, plus it has a cool add-on system.

No idea about the IAG or Turn Off-road kits. IAG appears to offer a warranty, which is a good sign. And I guess TURN at least picked up the Bronco from the spare tire mount with the forklift—so that's something I guess??

I was considering the Raptor carrier (more for aesthetics than anything) so I'm glad to see it as a ready-made kit. The price isn't absurd - definitely cheaper than buying the Raptor stuff from Ford Parts was.
Much more attractive than any aftermarket option I've seen. It's laser-cut sheet metal all the way down out there.

I was more impressed with him standing on top of the spare tire. However, if someone needs that much support, the Expedition One bumper and carrier would be a no-brainer.

@Beach_Bum is correct. I had around $50 of points I put toward the purchase.

Another way to rack up a few extra bucks not shown on the picture is cash back rewards. Right now Rakuten is only 2.5% but during BF it was 12% plus a $40 bonus. You can even stack with the 15-25% off FP discount codes they frequently run.

To stack with Rakuten it works this way:

$100 retail price
-$20 FP discount code (20% off)
———————————————————
$80 eligible for Rakuten cash back
-$8 cash back reward (10% for easy math)
———————————————————
$72 adjusted out of pocket after cash back

Granted it takes about 30-60 days to get your cash back as they verify then pay out in monthly cycles so you do have to cash flow up front similar to a rebate.

To get some more savings, again minor, I frequently use my Apple Card as it’s super convenient at checkout and I get a few percent cash back without doing anything special. So in the example above I’d get another $1.44 off for using my Apple Card. Their cash back isn’t instantaneous either but hits in a few days. I use my Apple Card pretty frequently and pay off each month so no interest. Obviously you could do similar for other cards with benefits. Ford has a credit card that helps accumulate points faster but all your points are in their ecosystem so IMO your benefit is limited somewhat which is why I use my Apple Card so much.

Rakuten example when I bought my ProCal tuner. After all discounts I was less than $500 out of pocket.

Apple Card cash back example of limited things I’ve used this month. FP tire carrier hasn’t hit yet but I just ordered after midnight so technically “today”.

Spotted this on the Ford Performance Parts site this evening while I was editing a YouTube video...

If you always wanted the spare tire reinforcement bracket from the Bronco Raptor on your regular Bronco.... now you can get it. (Also seems to come with a black Bronco emblem to make it all match.)

Nothing too crazy I suppose—already lots of options aftermarket. But I won't lie, I think the Bronco Raptor bracket looks the best.

it should work with either. But I suspect the extra rubber bumper included in the kit is probably for +30.

I say this based on the fact this kit is designed to support larger & heavier tires. The biggest +55 option will be the 33” tires on Badlands non-SAS which still weighs less than the +30 SAS wheels with 35’s. And those are lighter than the +34 Braptor wheels with 37’s. So wouldn’t make sense (to me) to give a new rubber bumper for +55 wheels.

That said, I think the only adjustment needed will be the rubber bumper they include in the kit. The new support is thicker and requires replacement of the passenger side bumper. If it is for +30 you should be able to use your +55 bumper and trim it down a little. Pretty easy to mod.
