  1. These roof panels are garbage and Ford should be ashamed of themselves.

It's an unfortunate thing about modern cars and the dealership-oem relationship, can the dealership fix the wind noise? %100, can we fix it if it's not a OEM approved method? No. So if the OEM engineers won't reply all you can do is wait or (I'll use Toyota as an example) you have to keep...
  2. Spare tire mount reinforcement kit now available from Ford Performance Parts

it probably has to do with if you have a ford performance authorized dealer near by. my local Corwin dealer isn't authorized and would require me to drive 40 minutes to get the parts, but the accessories site allows me to ship in stead.
  3. Ford to reduce Bronco production [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Ford is still way under pre pandemic levels. In 2019 ford sold 2,310,494, in June 2024 Ford had only sold just over 1million putting them at less than pre pandemic levels if the rest of the year follows suit. June was actually a 6% decline in sales for Ford. And yes the crypto market (not just...
  4. Ford to reduce Bronco production [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Haven't read every page of the thread but the reduced production and increased cost could be seen coming from a mile away. Ford is dealing with the same inflation as all of us between the first trump admin and the Biden admin the USA has printed more money in 8 years then probably the first 150...
  5. Too much weight to balance?

K02's balance like crap and tend to have very high road force. The weights being 180 off doesn't mean anything the clip on is on the inside lip the tape is on the outside lip. Most likely they have high road force causing balance issues. I'd get the tires road forced and see what they're at. At...
  6. 2022 OBX Mickey Thompson Baja Legend EXP Sizes

dick cpek got absorbed into mickey thompson who now makes all the tires they used to. but the baja legend is till in production.
  7. Dealer cut wiring harness and spliced wires?

oh i agree on my personal nova project when i was wiring the ls i soldered a bunch of connections and properly secured them to prevent vibration, but when your working with an oem you have to do it how they want. even on tiny 24 gauge wires i have to use a crimper that matches Japanese...
  8. Dealer cut wiring harness and spliced wires?

Toyotas opinion is that the heat from the solder effects the wires tempering and causes a hard break point at the end of the joint for it to break from vibration.
  9. Dealer cut wiring harness and spliced wires?

This as a dealership tech just repairing the harness is the go to. As a Toyota tech we can not use solder on a harness so non insulated and heat shrink is the standard repair using a jis standard crimper. Unless the wires shielded then if the harness is 6k that's the repair.
  10. Is this acceptable - Front Axle/Diff Leak/Seap

If it's anything like Toyota, as a tech I can't recommend leaks under warranty unless the liquid physicaly hits the ground. Personally no sleep is acceptable.
  11. Bronco Reliability

At my dealership we're thinking it's more to do with the level of boost they run in the engine in truck form, the same engine in their sports car has zero issues
  12. Bronco Reliability

    Bronco with a barra 😍
  13. hello everyone from reno.

Unfortunately not, I've seen it show up once in 3 months, and this coworkers in the business building so I haven't talked to him about it.
  14. Bronco Reliability

As someone mentioned above their reliability back in the day came from lots of factors they can't afford to do anymore. The 2jz was such a great engine because they over engineered the block had Yamaha design one hell of a cylinder head and then put 200-300 hp through it. Severely underpowered...
  15. Bronco Reliability

    Pretty much.
  16. Bronco Reliability

Having worked at a Toyota dealership for almost 12 years now, there is not a single part on these that makes them more reliable than any other vehicle, Toyota is just really really good at publicity. The new tundras and Lexus LX have engines self destructing to the tune of 108k vehicles (more...
  17. Easy Roof Light Bar Wiring DIY

No run a harness if you want, but the wiring in the truck can absolutely handle the amperage is what I'm saying. Not specifically about you running the harness more about people thinking bigger wire means better, when that's really not the case.
  18. Easy Roof Light Bar Wiring DIY

Just using the chart that's been posted here, and 11 years doing electrical diag at a dealership I can say it's plenty sufficient as a customer (not a consumer) the rating people see in that chart is for a continuous unbroken wire. Crimping 2 wires together doesn't make it a single wire it's...
  19. Easy Roof Light Bar Wiring DIY

so switch 1 would have worked for them as the circuit is rated for 30amps. I just don't get thinking that the engineers (bane of my existence as a tech) don't adjust the wiring to handle the amperage they are rating it for, the legal issues for ford would be astronomical if they rated it and it...
  20. Easy Roof Light Bar Wiring DIY

or you know the ford engineers thought of this. let's use the kc 50" bar as an example, each light on the bar has a 1.78 amp draw times 8 lights and you get a 14.24 amp draw for the bar. now the upfitter switches are not wired in series with the circuit they are just the control circuit for...
