Most 4 door owners secretly admire our 2 doors. Many have even told me this.

"If only I could make it work in my situation" is quite common.
Uh, yeah sure. I don't think so. I've gone to many events where the 4 door far outnumbers 2 doors and never once heard that. Not saying it wasn't said by someone, but its certainly not "most" 4 door owners.

I've heard that sentiment many times. I doubt it's broadly applicable, since it's a vehicle and y'know lots of people drive the Bronco completely oblivious to all this door bloviation. And perhaps some of it's defensive. But I know personally several people who've said given difference circumstances... And I have a 2dr, which might elicit more comments than someone who drives a 4dr.

yes, like driving your 70 year old parents to dinner with you and your spouse.

ah, the old "and besides, you don't need more than two doors anyway" gatekeeping trope.
Took my 70+ year-old parents on a trip to Antelope Island. I guess they are in better shape than your parents!

I'm just saying that 4-doors is largely a convenience, and to the point I was originally replying, an excuse. People want to blame the two doors as not being workable, but in many cases that's not true. Yes, there are some use cases that justify it, but there are far fewer than those "If only I could make it work in my situation" people. It's like people saying they need a full-size pickup because once a year they need to haul a load of compost from the gardening center.

Clearly I touched a nerve, as you pointed out in multiple posts. No gatekeeping here. I'm not trying to say Bronco XL owners aren't allowed to make that choice. Just be honest about why. :)

Nope. I wish. I'll be sleeping in the back sometimes when camping and I'm almost 6'. That also means being able to move all the gear to one side so I can have space to lay down. No rooftop tent for me - I'm old, not as nimble as I used to be, and the last thing I need is to take a serious fall.

I also sometimes go out with a large pelican case full of photographic gear (visible, infrared, ultraviolet, long telephotos). I want to be able to open a side door (not the one with a passenger sitting in it) to access my gear, rather than having the passenger step out so I can get into the rear seat where the gear is. I don't want to have gear access blocked by someone parking right behind the rear end, so accessible storage there is out.

I'm also going to resume going on 1-2 week trips, sometimes in the desert. That means more supplies and a lot of water.

Not everyone has the same needs, wants, and use cases. Just because you and your buddies can make it work for the way you do things doesn't mean that everyone else can 'if they just really tried.'

Yes, I really admire the two-door and I've seriously considered it. I wanted to make it work. However, with four decades of camping, overlanding, and landscape photography experience under my belt, I'm pretty sure it's not going to work for me. I'd end up frustrated and uncomfortable.

Enjoy the vehicle of your liking, and to each their own. I'm not going to tell you how to camp or overland, or that you need to do it my way.
The poor side door access to gear on my 2 door is the worst thing about it or the best reason for a 4 door.

Oddly enough, the four door would have been more appealing to me if it was a foot longer. Then you would really have some sleeping/gear room.

I just saw the specs and new colors for the 2025 Broncos. Aside from the Stroppe Edition, it looks like 2-door Broncos are eventually going the way of the dinosaurs. No 2-door Heritage Editions????? Two new colors are bland as hell. Desert Sand and Marsh Gray don’t exactly jump out at you. I understand that the 4-doors outsell the 2-doors by a ton. But it’s not as though Ford has to re-tool anything to keep the 2-door option. What are they thinking?
I was just thinking about upgrading to a 2025 2dr from my 2023 2dr and realized they're slim pickings. Kinda glad I was able to snatch up a 2dr OBX before they completely discontinued them this year. Hoping it makes the Bronco worth more since historically Broncos have always been 2dr and Gen6 is the only 4dr of the Bronco Line up.

imagine how much more space the 4 door has with the rear seats removed.
Imagine how much more awkward it would look with 2 extra doors but no rear seats, lol.

However, most personal-use vehicles are driven most of the time with most of the interior space not used. That doesn't mean that people don't use that space from time to time, even if just on trips.
exactly. You want something with flexibility, especially if you're spending that kind of money.

One could argue that a 2 door is merely a limited use toy, not a vehicle useful for a wide range of tasks.

Which number is bigger…

A) Percentage of 4-door owners that would’ve bought a 2-door if it fit their use case?

OR

B) Percentage of 2-door owners that would have bought a 4-door if it fit their use?

Point being…I’ve literally NEVER seen anyone on this forum say “man I got this 2-door but I was really hoping for a 4.” Of course, this comment will bring those 🦄 right out of the woodwork.

But, there are plenty of 4-door owners who were impatient (ca. 2021-2023) and didn’t want to wait for a 2 door, or who needed 4-doors from a practical standpoint. I fully understand both scenarios. Could’ve been me. I have two kids and a bunch of sh*t to haul around. But I didn’t cave and I’m stoked I waited 18 months for my base 2 door. Gave my youngest time to grow out of that rear facing car seat (which would’ve been a challenge).

Here's the sad thing that the 2dr brigade doesn't want to reckon with: There is likely an order of magnitude larger number of 4dr owners that would never have wanted a 2dr, including even those that wanted a 2dr as you point out. The 4dr is popular, more popular vis a vis sales. This tension makes the 4dr folks dismissive, and the 2dr folks defensive. Hence all the hard feelings. It's silly, but people are messy.

I bought a 2-door Heritage Edition (rear seat access is excellent) linked to the iconic original Bronco, and a 4-door Everglades.
A 2-door and 4-door, two of the coolest trims, and they are both "spectacular" in their own unique ways.

How do you know? Do you really, honestly know, or are you only speculating?

I mean, in the case of full-sized luxury pickups in suburbia, with pristine beds year after year, you could make that case.

However, most personal-use vehicles are driven most of the time with most of the interior space not used. That doesn't mean that people don't use that space from time to time, even if just on trips. Any person choosing a vehicle will have to make a judgment of how much capability to purchase for occasional use vs. the capability that should just be rented once or twice a year.

I get that two-door 6G Broncos are special and tie in to the heritage of the brand. However, none of us know what most Bronco owners are doing and how much space they need or want.

You're claiming that most four-door Bronco owners are not being honest with themselves. That's a big claim with no documentation other than you don't need that much space.

Despite your claims, your posts very much come across as gatekeeping. In so many words, you're saying 'Most four-door Bronco owners are either stupid or dishonest regarding their vehicle choice.' That's not friendly ribbing which we all can enjoy. That's an attitude of superiority and looking down on others based only on speculation. Not a good look.

Do better.
"Most four-door Bronco owners are either stupid or dishonest regarding their vehicle choice."

Finally someone gets it. ;)

I guess, but I have 100k+ miles of I don't think so.

That said, the 4 door school bus is the right choice for most people.
