It is a permanent plug. Odds are that same plug will be still in the oil pan while the Bronco is in the scrap yard.
Funny, but not true
I change my oil every 5k, the silicone gave out around 7 changes 35k miles. Ordered three new Ford originals so I have them when needed.

Replace it now!!!

...with a Fumoto valve. 😁
Is the Fumoto Valve actually guaranteed to not leak? I mean I assume so otherwise you probably wouldn't have mentioned it but I have never heard of it before.

Nothing in life is guaranteed, but I assure you that I do not baby my Bronco, and not a drop. Fumoto valves are made for a wide variety of applications and have been used for a long time. I've used them in multiple vehicles personally. My current setup involves the Fumoto 107sx and a section of Tygon F-4040-A 7/16"ID fuel line zip tied and a vinyl cap on the end--all just resting on top of the factory skid plate for about 13-14k miles or so now. It's great for positioning one oil catch pan to catch the oil from the main plug/valve and the oil filter on the 2.3L. The 2.7 and its plastic pan are an unfamiliar beast.

I was just looking for a setup like this last weekend - I should have asked around here. Nice setup

This is the Fumoto I went with...

Fumoto F107SX - 360° Rotatable Oil Drain Valve M12-1.75 With Clip - New Style! https://a.co/d/8In42XG

And I just drain it like the old days just don't have to use tools and no mess.

Keep hearing "The Fumoto is so much cleaner" when it's the gd sideways oil filter that's messy, not the drain plug. 😅
