Didn’t charge us for it but that might have been because we bought the fordies from them.
I know a mechanic at Firestone. I figure its safe to say that since these guys change tires day in and day out - putting on APEX valves will not be an issue right? Same "mechanics" as a regular valve correct?

Just pull the tpms, pop the old stem out, bolt the new stem in (with a DAB of blue loctite. APEX emphasizes a dab. Must be a metric measurement) and torque.

When ours were initially installed they didn’t use locktite and one did loosen. The shop said they absolutely do not have loctite in their facility as they are a tire shop only, so I had to supply them with some when they redid them all.

I think I will just pre-dab them with loctite when I drop them off to be sure they dont get lazy or forget.

Smart. I don’t know anything about you or your build so I won’t go as far as saying “you’ll love them” (maybe you like taking ten minutes to air down and fumbling around with a bunch of hoses) but I can say that it’s possible to air down four 40’s to single digits using the vehicles TPMS faster than some people can even get their four hose system out. You’ll air up more quickly too. Not sure if it makes a difference but we leave the valve slightly open on the spare for max deformation when being dragged on steep obstacles. Granted our tire has a frame mounted swingout and isn’t attached to the tailgate, but it still hasn’t made contact with the rear glass.

If you have banana hands and beadlocks you might want to carry a 4mm allen to remove the caps. I absolutely struggle to get them off with my fingers. The girls can do it but the 4mm is easier for them too.

I run 35s.....I have the "screw on" version of the APEX valves. They kinda stick out. I was driving home on the freeway and a shred of a semi-tire caught and ripped off my valve completely. It sucked. especially changing a 100+ lb tire on a decline, at night...using the stock bronco jack.....UGH. And ALL this time off roading (I go once or twice a week and drive fairly fast on the rocky trails - no incidents). Anyways, going back to regular valves and having to use chucks (only used hoses to air up) to air down.....i can't go back to that after using the APEX ones. Takes me a minute and 5 seconds for all four. You save so much time.....and the permanent valves are even better - 10 sec per tire I hear (36 to 17 Psi). Crazy.

That reminds me-I didn’t find any benefit to their screw on air chuck. Perhaps the beadlocks and factory wheels just make it a pain in the ass to screw on/off, but we absolutely struggled with the damn thing. On a couple occasions while trying to remove it we lost 5-6psi just from screwing around fighting the clearance. Went to one of those old school locking chucks I had laying around then eventually upgraded to the attached when it seemed line the other one was about to break.

I used the Staun tire deflators (with the quick release tabs). Expensive for what they are, and I've seen knockoffs that others use (but don't have the quick release, which I need, big fingers) that are probably a lot cheaper. With those, I tried tuning them to go to a specific psi but it's a pain, so I just let them go until the psi I want shows up onboard. Take them all off in the same direction I put them on and I'm always within 1psi on all wheels. And I keep them in my glovebox.

YMMV, but if you're looking for something, they are a decent option IMO.
