I run a 21 Badlands, I just go to the parkks here in S. FL, and I really do not crawl, though I could with the mods I have.

WT vs Braptor. Well it comes down to what you really will use the vehicle for. The Braptor, is a LOT more than fenders, It is upgrades all around the vehicle, and things you will never need to look at or touch ever again. There will be no need to add this or get that, It has it in spades, also it has it at the top of the food chain in suspension and other mods within it. Get a better rear bumper, some lights perhaps, and you are done. The width argument I do not understand because people are slapping portals on and they are the same width or wider than a Braptor.

The Wildtrack will have next best in suspension, also something you will not need to look at, but if you start adding mods, you may need to look into things for it. Depending how it is setup, you may need rockrails, bash plates, etc.

The Badlands IMO is the one that is built to crawl. You will get the updated steering rack, but lesser shocks in Blistien. That said you will have the disco, bash plates, gearing, to step out on the trails and go. I feel the Badlands would be easy to upgrade if you wanted to go to 37s.

What to do. Well it depends on what your goal is. You want to stay stock? You want to mod? You want to go fast in the desert? When I purchase there was no Braptor. Is my RIG to my liking? HELL YES! I can put it up on just about anything and not worried about it breaking. Build or buy? That is what it is about, and your use.

Go do it!
Lots of posts of great info regarding upgrades and mods to get you what you want. Thinking more simply and given your initial goals for your vehicle.
1. $23k plus taxes, insurance is a lot of mods of your choice, lots of trips and events to create memories.
2. Ask yourself if you want “bragging rights” with the braptor and what is it worth?

Oh I understand. I look at my MOD list and go Hmmmm......But you also need to factor this in.

1. Can you do the mods yourself or do you need to pay someone? That eats into mod money quickly.

2. Not sure if there is bragging rights to owning a BRaptor. I do live in Miami though. Like Will Smith says, 100k cars, everybody got em.

It is an interesting conversation, and honestly doing this journey I have done with my Jessabelle, I would wonder which way I would go now. I truly do not have the time these days to work on my vehicles like I used to, and lol my body feels it to now! So would I build or buy?

They're not even close in capabilities. strengthened frame, the axle the regular bronco uses on the back is on the FRONT of the raptor. the wider axles give a huge advantage in handling and stability. The list goes on and on.... try driving them both and you'll see

The width issue is crazy to me and fear mongering. Many (most) trail rigs are built with truck axles (1/2 ton thru 1 ton) and they are as wide as the Braptor track width- and usually have deeper offset wheels increasing it even more. I have no issue parking this in the city, parking garages or at the local grocery store. Those with this concern, probably haven't driven a Raptor.
I live in Texas, so the parking lots and roads are wide as hell. (Hell = Texas.) On the trails, though, there are possibilities to get into trails that are too narrow; I've been out with Braptors that went around or bounced around because of that. (I've gotten caught myself.)

It's not the end of the world, but some off road locales are narrower than others, so it's worth mentioning. I would think the fender flares take most of that because they act as spacers due to the width.

The mention of minimum upgrades while maintaining warranty is worth consideration, as well, IMO.

I have yet to have any real issues with width other than usually taking different lines plus I am 3" over OEM, its not that big of an issue. The majority of any upgraded jeeps on 40+s are damn near the same footprint as a braptor. The non removable flares are the biggest issue that I would want different. I have tire protection but its still an area of issue and the fact they are expensive. Also what people tend to forget the braptor mirrors are the same width as all of the broncos so those get used as a reference, I have only pulled mine in when near a tree for an obstacle but never had to do it for the majority of regular trails.

I don't think you can go wrong with a WT or BL just make sure its at least a 24 model.

What's the benefit of having a 2024 WT? A BL, sure, the HD rack (some would argue who cares), but the WT? Is it different? 🤔

I mean, there are cupholders in the backseat...

Why the 24 model? I thought they did the hoss 3.0 on the 23 SAS Wildtrak? Am I wrong about that or did they add something else in 24?

Wildtrak would be the same, every other trim with Sas (including non-sas Badlands), got the Hoss 3.0 rack in 24. I'd go MY24 Heritage Edition, equipped like a WT (with hard top) it's $10k less, Fox shocks aren't worth $10K.

The Braptor has a solid D44 front axle?

No- the Braptor has an independent front end like all Broncos.

I believe the reference is the front axle is equivalent to a Dana 44, similar to the standard issue WT rear axle. If im not mistaken though- the WT and Braptor have the same front axle, with longer axle shafts.

Tongue in cheek.
