After engine break in, going to full synthetic oil. Looking at Amsoil , used Shell Rotella in my old F250, had no issues. Any thoughts? Thanks folks.

I miss the days of running Rotella 5w-40 in my 94 TT Subi.

You’ll be fine with any quality Syn. Im of the opinion that Amsoil is far overrated for a daily/street vehicle. It will never be pushed to the limit or endure the conditions to warrant the cost. But to each their own, you won’t be making a mistake going with Ams.

Stick with something that matches or exceeds spec, something that protects against LSPI and you’re golden.

Probably gonna use Amsoil. Expensive, but it is a brand new vehicle. Was able to take it off road today? Holy crap this thing is badass!! Lol

OEM all the way. Tough to beat for filtration. They always have the correct bypass pressure spec and will ensure that a check valve is in place to minimize back flow.

Pennz Plat All the way!

Your choice. They are all pretty good these days. The Platinum is certified to the Ford spec. Not sure about Amsoil. There is a big thread on oils so not going to rehash. But getting a quality oil at about by one get one, add in the Ford filter, you can't go wrong. I usually buy extra to take advantage for other times of the year. Just need to send to a friend or family to get the rebate as it's 1 per household.

I've been a Mobile One camp for a while, but I freely admit, if something else is on sale I will strongly consider it.

Pretty much all the name brand synth oils are going to far exceed what you need anyway and are certified.

Mobil 1 Advanced Full Synethic w/ a WIX filter for the win. I use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum in my wife’s jeep and its a great oil but doesn’t have Ford’s WSS-M2C961-A1 on the back so I stick with something that does.

Ford Genuine XO-5W30-QFS SAE 5W-30 Full Synthetic, you can get a case of 12 qts for less than $100, and I get an extra bottle to top up if needed (6qts for the 2.3). I'm on my second change and it makes the four-banger buttery, and I can tell the engine is happier.

Been running Mobil 1 Advanced full synthetic (the bottle with the gray/black label design) + OEM FL-910S at a 5-6000 mile OCI. Been running amazing for the past 20k miles!
