This is occurring nationwide, and the reason I resumed doing it myself.Have you confirmed the dealer and tech are actually using the Motorcraft Full-Synthetic? My direct experience with Ford dealers in GA and FL is that the oil tech was running the wash rack last week and has zero clue what they're pouring into your engine. Both type and weight. Non Turbo Ford's use 5w-20 Semi Synthetic, some techs don't know the difference. Once I watched the tech pour 5 quarts of 5w-20 Semi Synthetic into my Focus ST. I stopped him at the 5th quart and looked at me like I was from Mars when I questioned why he was pouring the wrong oil into my car. He said all Ford's use this. Read the cap, genius, it clearly states 5w30 right on it and I specifically specified Full-Syn on the write up. I watched as he drained out the wrong oil, sent a runner to another location to get the correct oil and completed the procedure properly. Frankly, I don't think Ford does a good job in this area at all and my confidence in most of their dealers is less than zero.
I added Fumoto drain valves for my convenience.
I use Castrol Edge full synthetic in the engines, and Amsoil in transmissions, transfer cases and differentials.
