Here's some pics of the stock plugs I removed. These only have 26K on them.

Ford Bronco 0-60 in 4 Seconds - My 2.7 Bronco Performance Modification Thread 1706845989304

Pulled one of the new plugs out after a 100 miles or so. While the plug base ring shows signs of running rich the white insulator shows no signs of preignition/detonation. The ground strap shows the discoloration at the half way point, so the heat range appears to be good.

I will say, the Bronco idles smoother and she's running better than ever. Going to replace the Front & Rear diff oil this weekend and then see what she can do with E30. Pulsar XT testing is next :)

Ethanol testing kit. E content looking about the same as it always does at my local Sheetz. Went ahead and filled her up with E30.

Did a very mild launch today and already bested my current 0-60. If you compare the acceleration (G) line to my previous run. Much milder, though there was no wheelspin so that's good thing. Still think she has more in her with this setup and E30.

Plan to do more testing this weekend.

I’m also noticing that she’s pulling harder in normal mode vs. Sport. I’ll dig deeper into this and share my findings. I also forgot to mention, that I upgraded my Dragy device to the DRG70. No real difference, but wanted the the better battery life.

So I made an interesting discovery about the Bronco modes when doing performance runs. As it turns out, my Bronco feels faster in "Normal" mode. Faster than sport mode. I put this to the test and did two back to back runs, on the same stretch of road. I also launched them at the same RPM (2.6K RPM) Sport mode not only didn't feel as fast, but there was also more wheel hop. Here's the numbers below to prove it.

The left screenshot is in Sport mode and the right is normal.

As mentioned, even around town driving feels faster in normal mode. I suspect it has to do with how the RaceChip set to level 5 interacts with sport mode while also allowing for a more aggressive launch. In normal mode, I don't get any or much wheel hop. She hooks and goes. Wondering if I could have shaved off a tenth or so off my time...this whole time :)

Wasn’t expecting this… now UNDER 5 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 13.5s. Made an interesting discovery. I’ll share more info in a bit.

Can you please list what all you’re running to get sub 5 sec 0-60?

Also, I’m running 4-door, Bad Sas with AWE Cat-back, K&N CAI, Ford Procal tune currently. Ordered RaceChip S and was wondering what was your 0-60 with that set up piggybacked on the Ford ProCal?

And any real speed/acceleration (no so much temp decreases, I’ve seen those post you did) difference with the inter-cooler? Just trying to understand how much 0-60 improvement there is before Intercooler and even spark plugs.
Thank you and I’m really enjoying following your bronco speed journey! Thanks for sharing!

Glad to hear it! As for mods installed to get that time, they’re actually in the description of the video I posted.

You’ll still see an improvement without the plugs and Intercooler, but I wouldn’t run setting 5 on the RaceChip long term. The gains just are not there so I would settle on setting 3 until you swap the plugs and Intercooler.

The around town driving experience and acceleration improvement is night and day. Even my wife says the Bronco needs better brakes because it’s too fast now. Lots of torque and as soon as you lean into the throttle she throws you back pretty good.

I just removed the RaceChip and reflashed the the Ford Tune back to stock. I’ll be testing the Pulsar XT this week and then hopefully stack it on top of the Ford Tune. Timing to do all of this might be the biggest issue since I’m about to get into a beta tune program with a well known tuner. I’ll share more details when I’m able.

My original goal was to get into the 13’s, but now that I’ve hit that my new goal is to beat a Wrangler 392 down the 1/4 mile.

Much appreciate the response and looking forward to seeing where you take your Bronco. Godspeed!

Alright, just ordered an exhaust. Was torn between the CVF and MBRP. I ended up going with the CVF. I don't like how I'll loose a bit of clearance in the back, but the overall look is much better IMO (sucker for the dual-exhaust look). I also plan on going with the CVF downpipe later this year, so the combo should pair nicely :) Also, black tips are a must.

Took MWILD's advice and swapped out the plugs. This is with 23k on them.
There was a difference with the new plugs. Runs smoother and maybe a little quicker.

Nice work!

What plugs did you end up going with?

Sooooo close to a 13 sec 1/4 mile.

Same ones as you, See pic. I'm still working on my launch procedures. Thank you for your willingness to share your journey.
