Wow, those portals are the truth. I watched the other time they did this, and yes he had many an issue. This time he literally breezed through every obstacle.

If that is not a BUY THE PORTALS IF YOU DO THIS moment, I do not know what is.

I have to agree. When I first started watching the vid, his bumpers were the first thing I noticed, talk about badly rusted, and they can't be that old, and in Utah to boot, how the heck do they rust like that there?

Portals should be shipping next week is my guess..... and I added the rack and coil overs from Accutune.

currently I will have less into it than the Braptor they tried to talk me into. So I still have a little budget left.

Yeah they haven't been on very long. They just didn't paint them. I'm sure they will fake care of them eventually like they did with Blue Steel.

Plenty of other tricks not to rub like he did. That front bumper sticks out way to far and an actual 1-2" more of lift would get you pretty close to where he is at now with portals.

You are right plenty of other tricks not to rub but I respectfully disagree that another 1 to 2 inches lift will get you anywhere in the same ball park. That is what makes these game changing. It is not about how tall the vehicle is and I know you KNOW that.... to get the same clearance he has at the differential running 37 inch tires you would have to run 45 inch tires..... 8 inches of tire will get you that same AXLE clearance. Everything that is BELOW the suspension is raised 3.88 inches.

Then there is the 1.22 gear reduction before torsion even gets to the axle. It is game changing.

@Bored has those Huntington rims with the spacers though, so they won't necessarily stick out that far (he's working on some new ones with better offset). Ain't nothin' wrong with moving slow, can't wait to see what you get going though.

$65k for a Wildtrack + $20k for the portals puts you squarely in Braptor territory.

Ain’t rocket surgery to know which way to go.

@Bored has those Huntington rims with the spacers though, so they won't necessarily stick out that far (he's working on some new ones with better offset). Ain't nothin' wrong with moving slow, can't wait to see what you get going though.

I'm also trying to see if I can just use the front caliper parts in the rear (at the loss of the e-brakes that make the rear caliper housings larger and make me need spacers).

I just made a trip to Grand Junction for my skids (all but front) and sliders... and then to Ogden for my rear bumper and they talked me into a roof rack... more pics of those eventually... but teaser pic of the bronco last night in Casper, WY for a fuel stop as I was racing to beat the winter storms... I thought it was good enough to be my first ever instagram post lol

I had no trouble with traction even on the unplowed highways, heavy drifting snow, high winds, etc. Felt very planted and in control the whole time (slippery mode 4A).

Quinn recommends +25-35. For the Bronco, I think there's a maximum before the rim starts hitting the brakes or whatnot. +55 is probably best if you want to match the width (which are really rare). But yeah, you get wider for certain.

As far as the Braptor, I don't think you've got the clearance this does (I calculate at least 15" BL Sas w/38's, up to 16.5", getting in the garage is an issue), but you probably have better travel. I don't know the gearing for the Braptor, but the effective gearing for Sasquatch is pretty good with the portals.

If you want a 2dr Braptor-like Bronco, I don't think you can as easily get there without these portals (and other mods). For me that would put me around $90k the way I figure (38" wheels/bead locks, CV axles, upgraded frame mounts, better coilovers).

But I think an APG Mid or Prorunner is the comparison, and that's easily $140k or more. So yeah.

The Hutchisons yeah. I'd like to keep them if I can.. but I definitely would like to at least get rid of the rear 1.25" spacers (or any spacer)... and redo the brake lines to be completely tucked as we discussed in the other thread.
