I don’t have a Bronco yet, but I’m eyeing one of these:
F5885530-E46D-4AA6-A7CE-7D301F5CB74A.jpeg
Looked at one of those at the Fair last weekend. Kitchen in the back is a little high for me and worse for my GF since she's only 5'2".

they do have a slightly bigger model with the kitchen inside that seems to still fall below weight and tongue weight limits.

The Airstream Basecamp 16 and Rove Lite are two that I have been eyeing. Almost any pop-up camper, teardrop or overlander will also fall under the 3,500 lb limit.
Hitch weight on that airstream is over 400lb.

And for anyone thinking that a WDH lowers the tongue weight, there is this: https://www.etrailer.com/question-180152.html#:~:text=Expert Reply:,the capacities of the vehicle.

Been extremely happy with our E-Pro 12RK, also sold as a Rockwood GeoPro 12RK (sorry no pics behind the Bronco yet):

If your wife wants a toilet, things get tougher. I have exactly the same requirement! Done a huge amount of research and these are my finals.

If I get my way
  • Escapod Topo 2, my #1 choice (they don’t make the 1 any more)
  • Mean Bean, a real close second
  • Conqueror UEV 490 (big money but wow)
But if we have to have an inside toilet
  • Alto R1713 (amazing but expensive)
  • Forest River R-Pod (not a fan)

Little Guy 5-Wide. Roughly 1000 lb loaded. Pulled like a dream behind behind the 30 year old 4Runner, but haven't had a chance to pull with the Bronco yet.

That's mostly a lot of legal ass covering. Obviously they aren't going to "reduce" the tounge weight, but they do significantly reduce or eliminate the problem that having too much tounge weight casues, which is unloading of the front axle.

Just picked up this Sol Dawn Rover. Roughly 3000 lbs and about 300 hitch weight. The Electric hitch comes very close to hitting the spare, so might switch it out for a manual. Drove it back home roughly 300 miles, hit 80 a few times with my 2.3 engine with manual transmission, 6th gear is a no go and I had to keep it in 5th most of the time but other than that was trouble free.

Congrats! I just got one as well. Pick it up this Saturday. How do you like the Camper? Still happy with how it pulls it? We have a 2.7 L / Auto.

Late response but try just spinning the jack around so the controls face the trailer. Should buy you a fair amount of space judging by your pic. I’m leaning towards one of these as well as they seem like quite a nice unit.

Saw this going down the freeway a while back. Seemed a bit on the large size to me? But only a single axle!

6x12 Cargo Trailer Conversion. It was specifically built for the Bronco. It fits and tows great. The best performance towing is in Sport Mode. Building out a cargo conversion isn’t for the faint of heart, however.

Wow. I wish stuff like this got punished harsher because that is an absolute death trap.

Unloaded, that's 100+lb more tongue than max. If thats loaded, it is welllllllllllllll past tow limit.

Yeah, I'd say at the very least he/she is up against all tow ratings (if traveling empty with no equipment) after looking over the link to those campers. I wouldn't do it, that's for sure.

I just got done pulling my 2004 Viking popup for the first time and it was fine, but definitely not the experience I had with my F150 (which I expected). Long steeper grade downhills weren't ideal if I was traveling too fast. If I was 50-60 mph, it was fine. A few times I was pushing 65-70 without noticing and the trailer felt like it wanted to wiggle a bit downhill. It could be my inexperience, but once I got back down to 55 mph, I felt much more in control. I wasn't in a hurry, just got lost in my own thoughts a couple times with a lead foot. LOL

I was looking at Taxa when COVID hit. They sell them at a place here in Denton and they're pretty nice. Nearly all are well below max tow. Two downsides: They're not cheap, and I think they're order only? The TigerMoth was the one I was looking at.
