Typical bad AGM behavior. Voltage looks fine right after a charge/running. Might even sit at 12-13 for a while. Try to draw any current and it drops like a rock.
We were at a Bronco meet up, got to talking about the mic tops and 3-4 people claimed theirs didn't have any cracks. I found cracking on every single one, not usually severe, but all of them had hairline cracks around the windows. I've never managed to find a Bronco in a parking lot, used...
Some Scratches and rocks chips, but no dents or serious damage. Was installed for about 7 months. Missing 1 mounting bolt and 1 "Bronco" bolt. $350, pick up only.
Mine will kind of "aid" when steering around corners, but otherwise does absolutely nothing unless your already 5ft in the other lane. It's an odd system.
It looks like they got around the whole electronics issues by ripping them out and starting from scratch with their own. The 10r80'a TCM wants lots of data for its adaptive learning cycle, so it would be a nightmare to integrate.
Mine had a whole sheet that was left on the passenger seat with all the stuff they fixed. Not sure if that's normal or they accidentally left it in there. I got mine right off the delivery truck before the dealer could get to it.
I wish you the best off luck, but as I said on the 5.0 swap threads it's probably an epic waste of time and money unless you're fine driving around with the dash lit up like a Christmas tree, and half the modules not functioning. The hardware and software on these is irrevocably intertwined...
I was chatting with someone I know who works for Ford (I live near Dearborn, so not hard to come across) in April and told them I was thinking of ordering a more loaded '24, and they told me don't, and to wait for the '25. Would not say why specifically, but just that it would be worth it...
I was told that the refresh will restrict the 2.7 to the Wildtrack, but not that it was being eliminated completely. Part of the refresh will involve eliminating superfluous trims, and creating greater differentiation between the remaining ones, that was a big focus.
I would do it if I was in the same position. I've towed our 3,000lb camper with the Bronco and our 4Runner that has a 5,000lb rating and the Bronco is a vastly superior tow vehicle in every single metric I can think of.
Well good luck and I hope you get it to work. It's going to be pretty close to impossible to get it done the way your describing. The Bronco was one of the first vehicles from a legacy (not Tesla) manufacturer that had fully integrated computer modules making something like this an order of...
There was a whole discussion I think back before production even started and people were warned to stay away from the Badlands if they wanted a big lift and tires. The same thing has been true with the Ruby for years.
I still think it's worth a couple grand. It's more about driving in the snow than off roading of course. Having to constantly disengage 4wd to prevent binding while turning was a huge pain in the ass, and I would never want to go back.
Still no X-plan, and Farley really wants to reign in the overuse of X plan pricing across the board so I'm not sure they are eager to bring Bronco into the fold anytime soon.
The inverter Is a modified sine wave, not a true sine wave, and I'm guessing a 240w laptop charger would have some fairly sophisticated electronics that wouldn't like that much, particularly if it monitors voltage the modified sine wave would look like a huge spike.
