Those are different synchronizers for different gears. The 7107–C for 5th/6th gear that the TSB is replacing doesn’t look to be updated at all.

7107-A is 1st/2nd
7107-B is 3rd/4th and crawler/reverse
7107-C is 5th/6th gear
Thanks for clarifying, at least I was right about something... having no idea how their part system works :ROFLMAO:. On the parts.ford.com website the 'usage' notes for each are all jumbled:

7107-A (input shaft diagram), ford says 5th/6th
7107-B (input shaft diagram), ford says 1st/2nd, 4th, Reverse
7107-? (countershaft diagram, no letter written), Ford says 1st/2nd

then looking at the placement of each synchro (assuming they labelled each gear correctly, which after the synchro labels is a dangerous assumption), I'm seeing this:

7107-A, 5th/6th
7107-B, 3rd/4th, reverse
7107-?, 1st/2nd

But then searching part numbers individually/directly, what you listed is correct. Must've been a Friday afternoon when they laid out that set of diagrams....

Either way, it's a little disappointing to see it's not a design revision, just an R&R with the same part.

Yeah, even the actual Ford catalog is all scrambled. You kind of just have to look at where it is on which shaft and figure out the gear that it’s for. Just typical Ford stuff haha

I’m also surprised there isn’t any revision on the synchro they want replaced. I’m wondering if maybe there was just a defect with the part that has now been repaired? Who knows 🤷‍♂️

Well now that there is a TSB I'm trying to schedule my Bronco to get looked at and having a not so fun time with that.

First Place I called basically told me to pound sand. When I asked when I could get on the schedule to get looked at and was told quote, "I have no idea". So I asked if I should schedule at a different dealership his response was, "Sounds good to me". Honestly don't have anything more to add to that story.

Second place said 6 weeks before they will look at a transmission issue and they will need to hold it that whole time. Which, seems unreasonable.

I'm on the schedule at another dealership, but If I need to I'll call my purchasing dealership which is over an hour away. Not ideal for a issue that needs to be replicated when cold.

My dealer told me that their mechanic would not be able to perform this kind of service on a manual transmission.
I called a few other dealers and they all seem to be hesitant to take this on.

I just picked up my 2.3L manual last week, and drove it from Chicago to Boulder. It ran great, but I've noticed this issue, and I've also noticed it's hard to get into 1st gear sometimes, especially cold. I guess I'll call the local dealer today. I'm really loving the Bronco, but this is disappointing.

I definitely had 3-4 occasions where I was stuck in neutral early on and have to give excessive force to pop in gear. Has not happened since first couple weeks. I am at about 2k miles. Sound been there from the get go.

Have you tried the old trick of going into second gear and then shifting to first?

the occasions were

Sitting at light in neutral could not get into any gear after multiple clutch pressing. Had to really force knob forward and let off clutch to get it in gear. Took about 10-15 seconds of fiddling. Almost thought I would need a tow. Fine after it did pop in.

Another time rolling from 60 to 40 and looking for 4th. Had to jam it hard. Did not want to drop down or up into third. About 5 seconds or so of fiddling and force it went in. Then I checked all gears with clutch depressed still rolling and fine.

Another ocassion going about 30 trying to find 3rd. Had to slam it up hard repeated to pop it in.

This was all within the first 400 miles so I attributed to break in. Hasn't seemed to be an issues since but I now wounder if the noise is actually related.

Hey there! If you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info, I can assist with your concerns on my end.

we all know these vehicles are expensive, but the dealerships make most of their money on service don't they? sounds like dealer #1 needs new staff or a change in how dealerships should be run.

Got a call in with the dealer for the TSB. Parts as listed are a month out and they might require some unique tooling for the disassembly procedure. I have little knowledge on the internals of Transmissions, but I hope that this hasn’t shortened the expected life/durability/quality with extra brass/Metallics floatin around

For sure, this dealer is super close to me, and it would be great to use them, but every time I have to interact with them they're complete garbage.

Personally I'm not too worried, I think the damage to the trans will be minimal with the oil hopefully doing its job, but given the time to get parts I can seem to agree with the dealer getting to hold my Bronco for 6 weeks to then wait a month on top of that for parts.

Of course the other obnoxious part about this is you better get it taken care of while it's cold or its not getting done.
