Another tie rod option released

RPG just released their full tie rod for the Bronco. Looks good cost a lot it does solve a problem though. Just sharing info don’t know much about it.

you just made the tierod stronger and now the rack is the weak link. BTW ... These beefier tierod upgrades have been around for several years in the Raptor community.

The stud the outer hiem mounts to is tapered if you look on their website. Should mount up like the OE tie rod

that's a bit pricy, don't care about "pretty" color down there. Also not sure this is a good idea, something bigger and more expensive will then take the brunt force.
I think I'll just buy one or two OEM and stick them in my tool kit. I doubt these guys did a full test on where impact forces go and what they do to other parts if the rod doesn't snap.

I doubt the boots will fit since the aluminum rod is much larger diameter than factory steel rod. It also seems like you would have to remove the boot to do the toe alignment?

The guy that was breaking tie rods and steering racks also quickly bent the RPG joint (40" tires).

I am not a huge fan of this $398 alternative, but at least you wouldn't have to deal with the boot issues.

That's what I meant when I said that...run a bootless electric rack through mud? seems unwise to me, but what do I know? They show boots on their website. And ya the top pic, that guy has got some work to do to make the "angle of the dangle=the heat of the meat"

That's good at least.

Also having that rod end in single shear isn't optimal (as proven by that failed RPG) but not a lot you can do there without welding a tab to the knuckle.

Friend had his break in an accident on Jan 18 and he ordered one and received it on Jan 28th. Guess it all depends.
