Has the world determined the 2022s are able to be Forscanned for other features aside from Sport mode? Wondering if I should just return my OBDLink at this point...

If it’s used to add capabilities and features that others have paid for then no. And if the owner of the proprietary code determines they don’t want to give it away for free, then I respect their decision. Finding a way around it after Ford has shut it down is stealing. So, as I said……let your conscience be your guide. And I guess if you bought an IPhone and can figure out a way to access all their content (music/Movies, etc.,) like some 2-bit freeloader, then have at it, but don’t have the nerve to whine about it when Apple discovers the unauthorized access and shuts it down.
So I purchased an OBX, which means that it came with the lowest spec suspension, which I have replaced with a Badlands suspension and 33.5" tires (giving me the same capability as a Badlands with regard to articulation).

Are you saying that is stealing capability that I didn't pay Ford for?

I guess that I will know for sure when Ford shows up and demands I surrender my suspension bits.

Seems like some 2022 people on here are suggesting you can still mess around with double honk and door ajar chime and some of those things still. I certainly cannot verify it because guess what.....yup, I'm waiting for it still. Soon, really soon, I just know it.

It’s clear what I said. If you are unable to to comprehend it then I can’t help you.

Have a 22 OBX and as others have stated only allowed changes in BCM but "service procedure interrupted" in others.

I thought it was the OLD adapter I was using, however I guess that's not the case.

I noticed this morning the user D2dhanover is gone from the forum, he was basically our authority on ForScan decoding.
In addition, all of his posts have been deleted, so the information he did share with us is gone as well. 😥

Maybe Ford hired him to lock down their software...
He is a powertrain engineer at Ford, so they probably viewed the information he shared similar to sharing trade secrets.

We all made our choices on which trim level we got. Not all options are available on all trims. I wish they were, but they’re not. My point was that Ford is not “screwing” anyone by not allowing them to unlock a feature that’s not available on the trim level they chose. If anything, you’re screwing Ford when you unlock features that weren't Included on your vehicle. I have no problem with people doing it, and I wouldn’t feel bad about “cheating” ford out of a few free upgrades, but it’s not like anybody got cheated by Ford If they did in fact make it impossible to unlock a feature not available on that trim.
Until Ford gives us a refund for the features we turn off, I see nothing wrong with changing settings in a vehicle that we paid for, that offers us features that we prefer. It's no different that a programmer changing the capabilities of Microsoft software to better suit their needs. You're right though, Ford isn't "Screwing us" but we're not "Screwing Ford" either.

I think "Right to repair" is at the heart of this debate. Do we own the vehicle or not? If we own it, we should be able to do whatever we please, at risk of voiding warranty of course. It's essentially the same thing as jailbreaking an iPhone.

If I decided to swap my '21 drivetrain into something else, is it still a "crime" to modify settings in the ECM to make it compatible with its new environment? A GOAT mode is no different than a performance tune which is common in the automotive enthusiast world.

I was able to remove the double honk and keep the fog lights on with the hi-beams on my 2022 Badlands. Just couldn't add Sport mode.

Well that's exactly the point that I was making earlier, the software is already installed by Ford, the only thing we are doing is changing the settings. It's no different than programming in the presets in your radio or changing jets in a carb.

You aren't installing different software in the modules (which you can also do), you are only changing the current settings. Even performance tuning software these days isn't changing the firmware anymore either, it's changing the programmable parameters as allowable by the manufacturer.

Anyone else worried that they're gonna have their vehicle serviced and a technician is going to reload as-built back into the modules?
Hopefully you saved your changes in FORSCAN, my bigger fear would be that they reprogram the module firmware and leave you with reduced functionality. Thankfully I was able to get a list of all my software calibration versions for each of the module before Ford killed public ETIS/PTI data access. However, reprogramming the modules appears to potentially be very tricky and can brick the modules to the point that the car won't run.
