@RustysBronco where did you mount the gps sensor? The video freezes on me at 9:18.
Thanks again for calling that out Rob. I'm re-uploading a clean copy tonight.

I need to hire you to check all my videos!

I installed mine a couple weeks ago with the dongar usb power to the oem mirror plug. Mounted the rear on top of the third brake light. All is great but I didn’t connect the GPS because I really wanted it mounted out of sight and haven’t decided on a place yet. Anyone have any creative ideas?

Great video. I’d already run my gps sensor to the dash because they referenced having it flat but I’ll be interested in your experience over time as your install is a cleaner install.

One thing I did to keep my wires hidden when I pushed them between the windshield glass and A pillar trim was to push in a long piece of foam back rod that I had laying around from a home project. My camera and gps wiring kept wanting to pop out on the passenger side.

I also ran my GPS to the dash, hid the wires, pulled the slack, and hid it in the A-pillar. It was a pain, but it got done.

Now I am considering doing a hard wire because of the sentry feature....It's not something I am not worried about not having the feature, but heh, I love me some features!

Welp, I spoke too soon! I had a huge 2 minute block of silence right at the 12 minute mark, with video and no audio. Maybe 3rd time is a charm?

That's what I get for being an amateur Youtuber!

Next question ☺: I note the mirror’s gps is registering 4mph lower than my speedometer at all speeds. I have it set to the right time zone and when I went from the stock OBX 32’s to 35’s I had Panda run the Forscan to adjust for tire size.
Are any of you experiencing this? I called Wolfbox and they’re sending me a new gps sensor but not sure the issue isn’t my speedometer.

@TheLawnDart

I installed a Wolfbox as well and I absolutely love it. For the rear camera, I actually mounted mine on top of the 3rd brake light housing. To reduce rain from getting on the lens, I put a black piece of gorilla tape over the front edge of the camera. Kinda janky but it works!

@Ft. Worth Rob those definitely could come in handy! Hey btw, maybe you can answer this for me. The housing behind the rearview mirror, how does one take that off? I know there are like six clips or something, but I feel like I am going to break something each time I have tried to remove it. Any tips?

I pulled down on the gap at the top that faces the passenger compartment. I’d think you’d be hard-pressed to break clips. I recall there are three on left side and three on right side as you’re looking toward the windshield from the cabin but they’re just slight protrusions that are part of the cover mold and stick out I’d estimate less than a quarter inch., not like a clip that slips into a hole like elsewhere.

Nice! That worked. Just put my GPS wire through there after detaching it. TY!

Nice work @TheLawnDart! Here's my install so we can compare notes. I initially went the hardware route, but seeing the OEM rear view mirror harness went unused, I decided to repurpose it and use that for my power. Granted, I don't have the "sentry mode" when the ignition is turned off, but in reality that doesn't matter to me.

Love this! You definitely are much more detailed in this video. I like the rear mount you did and probably would’ve considered that if I didn’t swap out my hard top for an Armadillo one!
