Happy New Year Bronco6g!

Sharing a video I put together of the @WolfBox Rear View Mirror/Dash Cam. It covers my install, including two different ways to power the camera (hardware & tapping into the rear view mirror harness). I also share an honest reveiw, which was positive overall, but not without flaws.

I hope you find it helpful! Glad to answer any questions for you guys about the install.

Enjoy!

P.S. If you're looking for a discount on the Wolfbox, use code rustysbronco at checkout. That'll give you 18% off.

I ran mine outside as I thought the tinted rear window would make it too dark at night. I love mine but night driving and rain have been an issue. I may move mine inside after seeing your video

@RustysBronco It is now a few months in, are you still enjoying this cam? I am about to install an 850Pro and I was peeping your video for some install tips. I like what you did with the placement of the GPS sensor (vs the dash affix recommended by the manuf), but anything adhesive does not seem to stay stuck long here in Tucson with 115 degrees achieved in the shade, let alone full sun so I am torn. Part of me wants to affix the rear cam out front as a trail cam too. Decisions, decisions.

I'm still really enjoying it. I did some trail rides in Ocala National Forest about 3 weeks ago and it was awesome to have it. I'm a little peeved the G900 Tripro came out shortly after, but my front OEM camera helps calm me back down. I've actually haven't heard great things on the G850 Pro, so I'd say go with the 900. Let me know if the promo code I posted put a dent in the price for ya at all. Of course, feel free to reach out for any help!

I like my G900 Pro, installed the rear camera inside the back window. The only thing that doesn’t work is reading the SIM card on a MAC, eventhough it is formatted from the mirror first.

Doh.. 850 was a gift, so I am gonna move forward with it. I think the cameras are not as high def but the interface and features are the same as what your video was demonstrating. We shall see! Thank you so much.

The challenge with the competition is the frame rate, which affects the resolution. I am ok with the 30 frames per second for my normal daily driving.

And after test driving the 850Pro for a few weeks the only beef I have is the camera's wifi connectivity to my Android phone. The camera and Android Auto both want control. (Yes, we hates the Android Auto, precious).

I dont need my phone to talk to the camera until I am ready to download footage, so you would think turning off the wifi on the camera head unit would solve. Nope. It re-enables itself periodically - sometimes evey hour - and throws up the connectivity prompt blocking the rearview feed. I touch it back off again, but what a pain. @WolfBox support team told me to also try disabling voice features. I did, and that did not solve. Follow up email with them is still pending a response.

I was hoping to find someone on the most recent firmware - G850pro_20241114G - who could tell me if this was still problematic before I bother to put time and energy into that trial.

AND does this fun happen with the G900Pro? I could bump the 850Pro down to my TJ and maybe justify a G900Pro for the Bronco...

PS - Ha, another reason to hate the auto shut off feature in the Bronco - I am powering my camera with the socket that feeds the OEM mirror. And the Wolfbox cuts out when the engine does.
