Why so many used Wildtraks?

Have you ever seen the interior of a 90's Ferrari F355? It makes my Bronco look positively plush. Too make matters worse, both my 95 and 99 Miata had better interiors than my Ferrari (although the 99 did need some JDM Mazda type F racing seats to really measure up).

You can spend a lot of money on a vehicle and still get a shit interior... Of course, nothing quite compared to the song of F355 V-8 ripping at 8750 rpm...

OT, but does your F355 have sticky buttons? That's a known issue that happened to those cars after time passed. It is a quarter century old now, of course. "Sticky-No-More"(Google it) is the best company out there for dealing with the sticky issue and getting things looking back to new. My 348 Serie Speciale didn't have the sticky issue, but I've seen 348/355s with them, and it quickly degrades the interior experience. Personally, I found the interior quite a step up from the Bronco, can't even compare the leather quality (assuming yours has been treated to a re-dye if needed) but the "feeling" one gets from an interior can be quite a individual experience.

I've stepped back in time, sold the '93 348 SS, and imported a very early 1974 Dino 308GT4 from Germany. Forza!

We did, just that we either didn't drive or where too young too LOL

Keep in mind that a good portion of baby boomers are almost too old to be driving. My parents and In-laws are in their mid 70s and I remember my uncle and grandmother stopping driving before they hit 75.

Fuck I'll be half a century old the end of next year and that is how long ago the gas shortages happened LOL

Of course it did, they are the worst, the black shit gets everywhere. Fair enough comment on the leather used on the seats is really nice.

My totally unfounded speculation is that people ordered a Wildtrak as a high end luxury, awesome offroader to be used as daily driver.
EX: a cooler looking Grand Cherokee Limited.

Most people ordered them without ever seeing one in person or test driving one.

When they finally got it they found out it really lacks in the luxury aspect.
Cheap plastics, rough ride (compared to what the expected) and loud (tire and wind noise).

Honestly I doubt too many expect any Bronco to be luxury, its not what its about and hard to imagine someone buying a new vehicle without doing at least a little research. That said coming from a midsized sedan, I disagree the Bronco has a rough ride. I prefer both its ride and steering response to my Mazda6 sedan. I also wish people would stop complaining about so called cheep plastics. I for one like the interior the way it is, and don't want it change to "soft touch" garbage.

I never expected a plush interior, but I have it where it counts. I have leather seats. I have full-power seats on both sides. I have dual air. I have the big screen, and my NOW car plays works every time.

When I compare this to the F150 I sold to buy this, It all compares. The only part that does not is the cool seats. For the back, well I do not sit back there, nor do I have a lot of people back there. The only thing that does stick out is the noise from the softop, and the light bar that I fixed over the weekend. Even with that, I can purchase a hardtop. MPG? I am getting the same if not better than the 5.0 I had in my Harley.

The true difference and the reason I purchased is that I CAN OFF-ROAD again, which the Harley could not. No more ride-alongs for me. I can drive myself, and that is the reason I bought the Bronco and the trim I have.

I'm happy with my purchase and I have said no regrets.

Mazda6 is front wheel drive. They all steer funny. Never driven any FWD car I liked the steering on. One of the reasons I haven't owned one in over 25 years.

Whenever I borrow my daughters car (which is normally me driving it to get the oil changed) I'm reminded of how bad they drive.

Not really a response to the OP, but I bought my Wildtrak because I wanted the "best" non-Raptor off-roader version. I got the Lux because the adaptive CC was a non-negotiable. IDK if it's because I got the 2DR or not, but I don't see how anyone could say they're underpowered. I baby the throttle unless I can't, and I get 18.3mpg in the city.

I will admit that there was a little shock on the ride quality for the first couple of weeks, but that quickly went away. I absolutely love it. I don't think of it as a rough-riding luxury vehicle but as a smooth-riding Jeep. #glasshalffull

Most F-150s don't have rear A/C vents either. You need a model with a sport package to get the console. We had to pony up for the STX package on the wife's F-150 to get the console. FX4 package also has it.

Well to be fair, and full disclosure, my Harley edition did have the rear vents for AC. Honestly, though, the few people I have had in the backseats of my Bronco did not complain about not feeling any air in the back.

I'll throw my guess in the ring. Most people saw the price, and that was positioned as the top end model. When they started getting delivered, people started to realize that there wasn't much differentiating them from any other SAS equipped model.

I agree as I also baby the throttle and get 18+mpg.

For OP - I fell into the Wildtrak because of the HOSS 3.0. I spent six months researching Bronco's in late 2021 & into 2022 prior to my order in 3/2022, I was waffling between a Sas OBX or a Badlands. When Ford announced in early March 2022 about the HOSS 3.0 option that included the Raptor steering rack along with Fox 2.5's in the Wildtrak MY 2022.5, I placed my order.
I drive in the sand (on the beach), on mountain terrain, some overlanding, as well as some pavement driving for work. For me, the updated Wildtrak (w/HOSS 3.0) provided out of the box functionality and suspension requirements to suit my needs. I don't need a 3" lift, or have to invest in a beefier suspension, need new control arms, upgrade my tie rods, nor plan to purchase 37" wheels, etc.

I have what I need, with the exceptions that I added lights, upgraded my sound system, and added some convenience/functional accessories. The interior leather seats match my AGM trim and I am very pleased with my $60K vehicle. No, I am extremely pleased w/out any buyers remorse!
But I did understand what I was purchasing. This not an Escalade, nor a Grand Cherokee, it is a fun driving Ford that will take me almost anywhere I want to go. Also provide me with enough comfort to make the drive enjoyable.

What someone said about people thinking they were a soft/cushy type family vehicle. And, drum roll please, they just can’t afford them. My dealer said not uncommon for $1,200+/month payments for people buying Bronco’s. He’s seen plenty of $1,500/month payments recently.

Anywho, me personally, I’m not buying for a “Quasi AWD”, if I’m dropping $55k+ I just want Advanced 4x4 because 4A in the winter is extremely convenient.
I’m buying a Bronco with ZERO intentions of doing crazy offroading and there is nothing wrong with that… different strokes for different folks.
I’m buying for the experience.
1. Removable Top
2. Don’t want a minivan
3. Heritage and Nostalgia (i’ve always loved the Bronco of yesteryear)
4. Regardless of some of the flaws they’re, IMO, one of the best looking SUVs on the market.

This forum scared the crap outa me, thinking I was buying a giant flawed, and cheap truck-I love my OBX SAS, and giggle every time I am in it-I think the seats are comfy, and do not think it is loud on the road, or highway-you will love it once you pull the trigger

A lot of ppl ordered sight unseen and definitely expected some sort of luxury, that’s why some opted for the lux package. For the $50k+ price tag for some of the Broncos, I get it.

I’m thinking it’s because our leaders are slowly becoming successful at beating down and eliminating the middle class. The people that 2-3 years ago could afford 60k of a vehicle can’t anymore, priorities.
