I will be installing a compressor, and am considering adding an air tank as well. That got me thinking about something else I have always wanted. A legit train horn! Who has one, and how did you install it? Got any good stories about how folks react to it?

Nice try Mikey! I would like something like the train blasters but not sure where they might fit best.

If you're looking for a ligit train horn, not sure what advice I could give.

However, if you are just looking for a super loud, compact, self contained air horn, Google "motorcycle air horn". People put them on bikes to replace the shitty oem horns.

I've looked at lots of versions. There's a brand that has all kinds of different sounds. Cows, Lions, Flipper, etc. Their horse whinny is very appropriate for a Bronco. I've seen electric ones on firetrucks. There are air powered sets for passenger cars as well as electric. I'm sure there are Bronco's that have them. Curious about how they were installed.

I wouldn't install one on my vehicle permanently. However, I do have one of these:

www.impacttrainhorns.com

Pick your poison to match whatever brand you use. Go for the (4) horn setup. And don't use it indoors.

Edit: They didn't come with remotes when I got mine. That...ohhh I could upset some people with that.

May want to install the "Toot" first - and assume positive intent.

That is a big commitment and you need to consider if the return on effort is worth it. Here is a link to a video who installed a Nathan 5-chime locomotive air horn on top of their cab roof. From a practicality standpoint, the engine compartment is far too small to install a compressor and a tank. I would encourage you to look into the legality of installing a locomotive air horn. Think also of the future resale value if you go through with this. Good luck.

I was able to wedge a single trumpet into the fender right by the Fuse Box (not even bolted in). Convenient to the AUX 1 wire I used to power the compressor.

Or you could just back off a bit with that self-centered person who cut you off. Realize that blasting a horn that scares uninvolved people is a dick move. Let the stress go, get off that multi lane highway, and enjoy a more scenic route.

I am not standing on a pedestal looking down, just looking back on a youth of my own and seeing all my dick moves because I felt disrespected, or whatever it's called for being emotional these days.

Go offroad and get away from the hustle and bustle in DFW. I'm sure there are a ton of cool placed between you and Wichita falls.

People who have and use the train air horns to scare people are a&^holes of the utmost kind. There is no need for those horns at all...but you do you, boo.
