My wife got hit by a motorcycle maybe 15 years ago. She was driving a Nissan Juke. He decided he could use her lane to come around a blind corner and he slammed into her leg first.

He almost lost his leg, suffered brain damage. The Juke was totaled, broken axle, all air bags deployed. Bumpers wrecked, door smashed in, and the list goes on. She upgraded to a WRX so the story at least had a happy ending for her.

Motorcycles can cause a crap load of damage to cars (and their drivers).

No & hopefully never. As a motorcycle rider, these "Crotch Rocket" riders are getting out-of-control. They believe they're immortal, and fail to realize the concept of speed with common sense. Sad seeing these accidents, but not surprised they occur all too often. >.<

I hit a car on my triumph 500 back in my college days…city put a new stop sign up and pretty girl in mini skirt getting out of a mustang combined for slow crash into back bumper of old lady’s buick…no damage to buick but bent my forks and got a sore leg…also did barely scrape a jaguar changing lanes in commute traffic while I was splitting lanes on my 900 ninja going to work near the bay bridge…kept going…bikes are way more fun than any other vehicle but I have given them up in my old age cause my mind started writing checks my body couldn’t cover…but no, I have never been hit by a motorcycle…

I can see ANYONE getting speed drunk on a liter bike! I would love to rail one but at better than 60 years old, it would for sure be the death of me. Never have been hit by a motorcycle, but have seen the devastating aftermath.

A few years ago there was a report of a Harley rider in PHX T boning a lady in a mini van and killing her. The van was rolled on to it's roof. I didn't believe it so looked around on line and found multiple similar collisions. It seems to need to be a taller vehicle like a minivan, I'd think a Bronco might also be susceptible.

The wife and I rode cruisers for years before friends talked me into sportbikes when I turned 41 years of age, hence my number . We used to ride the public mountain roads every weekend like it was a racetrack. When I went to the track for the 1st time and saw how far riders slide out into the gravel before coming to a stop I never rode fast on the street again. I kept the sportbikes for the track and went back to cruisers on the road. I miss those days at the track now though, since I'm too old to take those type of risk.

I didn't get hit but it was close. Last week I on the freeway in CA. looking to merge into the #1 lane. I saw a bike coming and let him go by. Looked again in my left mirror and blind area mirror and it was totally clear. Started moving over and suddenly I could hear a bike coming fast. I immediately swerved back into my original lane and he came sailing by. I was going 80 and he was going a lot faster. He caught up to the other bike and they both slowed down and moved over to the # 2 lane. I don't know what they were up to but it was a very close call.

I stopped riding a bike when I realized hitting the foot pegs going into the driveway at work was a bad habit (Yamaha Vision). I decided if I couldn't slow down I should stop riding until I developed some self control. Sure was fun though.

Back in the early-mid 90s I had a 2 hour each way commute to work.
My bike was a 750 Suzuki Katana with an 1127cc GSXR swap.
On stretches of road where I had a good line of sight and minimal traffic, I would stretch it out.
I have never understood blasting thru and around traffic.

I went ahead and added a hyphen for ya, because I misread it completely the first time.
