Don't do it.

I would recommend looking for a much cheaper vehicle, maybe something under $20k. Post 2020 - New Vehicles aren't worth the money - Especially if you are financing it in today's high interest rates.
Back in early 2020 you couldn't buy a Bronco, but you could buy really nice 4x4 or truck for under $40k @ 3% interest. Now they want $60k + 7.5% loans! Not Worth It.

e-commerce fee?
I would ask them for a very detailed written explanation as to what that is. Remind them you are there in person, not buying/paying via the internet.... and such fees should apply to your purchase.
Also mention you need it in writing so you can show it to the Attorney General for review.:sneaky:
Ask whether the fee applies if you pay cash or with check from your finance company.

It seems to be an obvious money grab on their part, and they're hoping the customer will just pay it. But if they want to play games, play along and give them a hard time.

I remember feeling lost when I started my online store. It's basically a charge you pay for using an e-commerce platform to sell your products online. Think of it as rent for your virtual storefront.
I don't think the OP (@FortheWifey) ever closed out whether or not they paid the "fee" or not but in my past experience living in Hawaii it was nothing but a dealer add-on to confuse the buyer. The "fee" was almost $6k with another reported ADM of $10k ... welcome to Hawaii!!!

One of my favorites when I was there was the additional "transportation fee" to get it to the island ... uh, that's covered by the $2k+ Ford throws on the sticker! Many of my buddies would just order from the mainland when they went on leave and had it shipped to Hawaii and usually saved money but this was pre-covid as well.

I know it's an old thread but the "I've got some ocean front property in Arizona" thing applies here.

It is simply ADM, and in my estimation (after looking it up)... it only applies to online orders.

I would therefore say... "thanks but no thanks", go to a different dealer (or maybe the same one after you have officially killed this "eCommerce" bull, and order it in-person. However, I would never actually (myself) go to a dealer that has tried to screw me.

Its just ADM... hidden as a tax.

Lesson to learn... know what taxes you will pay beforehand.

Here is a registration handbook: https://www.hawaiistar.com/hawaii-car-registration-cost/

Here is a tax guide... I'm sure there are others: https://www.findthebestcarprice.com/hawaii-vehicle-sales-tax-fees/

The "tax guide" has a lot of good info. You can assume it is correct... or not!

I personally wouldn't deal with a dealer that comes up with such FUD. But that's just me.

Ngl, completely forgot this thread existed 😂 weren’t able to get all the way down to MSRP but we were able to cut some corners off here and there. (Also if you plan to get the extended warranty I highly recommend getting it from Granger, pretty sure they have a thread on here. Literally half the price of what the dealer offered).

Anyways, main point. We’ve been loving our Bronco for the past 6 months now 🤙🏽

Ah the old Necro thread situation strikes again  .

Glad you are enjoying your Bronco @FortheWifey 🤙

Unfortunately, living on an island you're going to get stuck with a lot of fees with anything :(.

I just looked at some of the dealers pricing there. I found one that was similar to mine and it was almost 10K above what mine was. The dealer I got it from had no ADM and even gave me a discount on my ESP plan. I guess when you are stuck on a tiny island you get what you get. The nerve of dealerships to be doing this.
