That's just it though, it's Hawaii and it's his new Bronco that's arriving. I doubt things have changed from when I left precovid but they just don't care, you pay their price or have it shipped in yourself. You have all the branches of the military on Oahu that are guaranteed paychecks, to me it was predatory of the prices then and I'm sure the shortage/demand only made it worse!

OP, hate to say it but are you native? Usually the Hawaii tax only applies to the howleys.

I haven’t bought it yet so hopefully I can negotiate something. It’s basically ADM but “disguised” (as if it wasn’t obvious) as a fee. I guess a $4k discount off of a $10k ADM is a great deal lol

I suppose every dealer is free to set their own price including these BS fees, but when they hide that from you until after your order is delivered is messed up. That should have been disclosed when you placed the order. Hope you have luck negotiating that off.

Yup, my wife and I are both about half native Hawaiian. I haven’t heard anything about tax exemptions, I’ll definitely have to look into that

Well, I don't know if you ever said what options you are getting on your Badlands or what the final price was... but you could always buy in CA and have it shipped there. I can't image it'd cost over $1000 over listed shipping cost to ship (when you compare CA shipping costs vs Hawaii)

I guess it'd come down to what the bottom line difference it is, and whether it was worth the hassle (to you).

I’ve definitely thought about it. If I can find the right one on the west coast I might do that.
Either way it’ll be tough if we have to turn down the bronco my wife and I put together exactly how we wanted when it’s right there in front of us (just for them to mark it up another $10k if we don’t buy it)

btw: 4 door Eruption Green Badlands w/Sasquatch, Lux, hard top. my wife knows the mountain trails and how to get permits so we’re planning to use it as intended, not just for looks
