Wouldn't be possible.Has anyone done this with out pulling the front bumper? Thanks in advance.
I have the Fab Fours Premium Winch Bumper with a winch attached and I really didn't want to take it off. I figured I would try to install with out removing my bumper. I can't speak to any other bumper, but I was able to install it without pulling off my bumper.Has anyone done this with out pulling the front bumper? Thanks in advance.
Sorry I missed this one. CARB compliant means CA doesn't feel this meets their California Air Resources Board (CARB) Standards and therefore does not allow it to be sold or installed on a vehicle ment for highway use. I bought mine from Summit Racing and picked it up in Sparks, NV since I don't live far from there. You can also order it online from them but you will have to check a box stating that it will not be installed on a vehicle used on the highway. I am not sure how it will affect getting your vehicle smogged in CA.What size rivnuts are needed? Also I live in CA so when you say not carb compliant what does that mean exactly? It’s just a bigger better intercooler so why would this matter?
I missed this thread when first posted. looks like this mod would really expand winch options. There doesn't seem to be much info out there about this intercooler. I guess it's a fairly new product.

This won't be a step by step, or very scientific as far as the results. Sorry I'm lazy..
My main reason for doing this is to add a hidden winch. I may write that post up one day, we'll see.
Biggest issue is that it didn't come with any instructions so I had to figure out how to make it work with what they sent. The manufacturer was unable to provide them as well. I heard from the supplier I bought it from that Wagner is working on an install video.
Main things to know is that I had to buy a rivnut install tool ($9 at Advance Auto). And I also had to remove the grill shutters and cut some of the plastic in the back of the support to make room.
Only thing I would improve on (other than including instructions) is that the hose fasteners are just standard hose clamps. I may upgrade to stronger ones from Mishimoto or similar.
As far as temps after the install everything has been great. No issues, including the a/c still working great even when not moving.

The hoses were a bit of a head scratcher. They didn't quite line up for me, and there was an extra quick connect type of piece that I didn't use. I assume this is because it's meant to work with either the 2.3 or 2.7. I have the 2.3. I was able to modify them very easily to work for me.

An added bonus is that my stock intercooler was half plugged up from all the mud I tend to dive into.

I cobbled together my own hidden winch using the cradle from the RC Hidden winch. I don't like their skid plate or how low everything sits. I can send you more info, but this is basically it.I missed this thread when first posted. looks like this mod would really expand winch options.
What did you end up doing for the winch?
Thanks, looking at the pictures from your intercooler relocation I thought you could do essentially what you did. Then I looked for a thread you may have posted on how you did the winch. Found your thread selling of extra winch mount parts so figured you did something.I cobbled together my own hidden winch using the cradle from the RC Hidden winch. So in short I cut the side brackets for the RC cradle and mounted the bottom holes of the tray to the top holes of the brackets.
I used some of the cut off brackets and the nuts with the little handle to support the bottom.
The plate across the front was I believe 4"x3" x 3/8" aluminum angle. I would have preferred 2"x5", but this is what was available locally.
Also due to the angle I mounted the lower part of a roller fairlead to the backside of the plate.
The pics are always out of order.

Thanks! I really like it.Thanks, looking at the pictures from your intercooler relocation I thought you could do essentially what you did. Then I looked for a thread you may have posted on how you did the winch. Found your thread selling of extra winch mount parts so figured you did something.
I really don't like how low the typical hidden winch is. Your solution looks fantastic.
Now I'll have to decide if I want to spend the money and implement a similar solution.
