If you want a "collector" Bronco, look for a Heritage Limited and not just a Heritage. But I doubt even the HE-L's will hold significant value down the road. Also, depreciating assets don't make good investments.

You are 100% correct on all accounts! The 6th gen may very well go down in history as an absolute pile of junk.

Your missing my point. Some of them need to be saved from the crushers 15 or 20 years from now. Next time your at a show looking at some cool car or old Bronco there is someone like me that saved it.

I have #20047. 2D manual. Only put 350 miles on it so far. Mainly drive my F150 Tremor so Bronco stays parked in garage. Not really trying to not drive it, just don’t ever seem to have time. I guess I drive it vicariously through folks on this forum.

Well just to answer your question...

• L = Michigan Assembly Plant
• A20009 = Identifier

2023 Broncos started at A19950 if memory serves, meaning this was the 59th VIN to be sequenced. Note that the 59th VIN does NOT mean it was the 59th Heritage Bronco, it was just the 59th VIN to be sequenced. It also has no bearing on production or sales order. Vehicles are usually not produced in VIN order. PL19950 was indeed a 3-door Heritage, but it actually the 291st vehicle sequenced for that day at Michigan Assembly, and honestly was probably a test or media build that most likely has since been crushed. Yours wasn't produced until several months later.

My opinion?? Just enjoy it. It's a mass produced vehicle—nothing special about Heritage. No reason to baby it.

In 30-50 years, these Broncos will probably be hot commodities just like the 1st gen Broncos are now. But you certainly aren't going to get any extra for yours due to the VIN.

Not what you’re looking for exactly, but you can look at your window sticker and see what number your vehicle was built in that specific production run. No cigar, but close. That’s with rangers too, of course. Mine highlighted for reference.

The OP's issue is if his Bronco has any "provenance," which is the term collectors use to assess a distinctive history, ownership, or other distinctive traits irrespective of the item's actual value.

I have it on genuinely spurious speculation that my Bronco, which was a cancellation, was ordered by none other than Clem Kadillhopper, a notorious drunk, who plunked $5,000 deposit down but forfeited it because he was on a major bender. Unfortunately, they did not credit that $5K towards my purchase.

It's a freaking Bronco, sure it might have some additional value if it is an earlier VIN, but probably not - even in 50 years.

Look at Hemi powered superbirds, does anyone care what production number it was (#19 or #500), no... They are all worth a butt load of money, maybe if you had #1, it may have additional value, but otherwise no.

To drive the point fully home, how does the year and VIN sequence impact the value of 1st generation Broncos... That will reflect the reality of 50 years in the future much better for you. Also, early Bronco values wouldn't have exploded without the 6th generation showing up.

On a side note, should I stop driving my Bronco now to preserve its value?

Hey OP, I have the very first Base ever made in Azure Grey. Since the Base is now discontinued, my Bronco is priceless and no one else can ever own one again.

The fact that my Bronco smells of fish guts and outboard gas does not diminish its value one bit. To keep the Azure Grey paint in pristine factory original condition, I never wash my Bronco despite 22,000 miles of mainly dirt road driving here in Montana. Don’t try to lowball me, I know what I’ve got.

I own a classic Chevelle, have owned other classics, and am restoring my dad's classic right now.

Nobody cares about the vin number except to verify the engine, transmission, paint color, etc.

Also, as an example, an early vs. late vin and build date might help someone to figure out if the parking lenses should be clear with amber bulbs, or amber with clear bulbs, for a certain model year (as small things change in a model year), but still, nobody cares.

Currently trying to do some VIN research. Our Heritage Bronco 2 Dr Manual has a low VIN number for 2023 that was built early in 2023 VIN: PLA20009 What were trying to find out is this something we need to turn into a garage/pavement queen or something that we can use and play with. Does anyone know where we can get a list of or find out any information on number produced and vin sequence. Thank you!

They do. It’s called a Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin. The dealer sends that to the DMV so you can get a title.

When I bought my 'vette out of state a million years ago I received the MSoO directly, which I later gave to the Ill Sec of State to title/register. So for a truly dedicated VIN chaser they could/should probably do something like that so they have that cherished MSoO "certificate" then park it, seal it in amber, and never title it until it's time to cash in for that crazy sweet, sweet money. Or maybe collect stamps or coins or something that are easier to store.

Some in the EB group do care about the year and sequence quite a bit. Many others are just happy to have one at all.

Values were getting up there before the 6G but yeah the 6G really pushed it over the top. Maybe the 12G will do that for the 6G one day. Prices are starting to fall off a bit, which is to be expected since I have a knack for buying at the peak.
