Are the gaps between your hood and trail sites the same on each side?

Ok! Here’s the deal. I owned my bronco for about a month before someone pulled out at a red light (on Valentine’s Day!) and I plowed into their front quarter panel. More details on that fiasco here.

I originally picked up my “repaired” Bronco on Memorial Day weekend. Since then, I have had my bronco back to the body shop that did the repair work four times. Each time I pick it up, the same body panel gaps are off. When I point this out to the dealership, they claim everything is normal. Across the four times I’ve taken it back for this issue, it has maybe gotten incrementally better, but not what I’d consider “resolved” as they claim. Each time they say it is fixed, I take it home, it gnaws at me for a couple weeks, and then I reach back out and tell them it is unacceptable and make an appointment to have it fixed.

I can imagine a lot of you will say something like “just take it to another dealership.“ I fully appreciate that, which is exactly what I did. That dealer/body shop suggested that there were still unresolved issues - a cross brace that functions as the “core support” was the culprit, in their estimation.

So, back to the original shop I went, and they agreed that this was an actual unresolved problem, apologized profusely, and replaced the cross brace. They called me and I picked up my bronco today, for the fourth time. The gaps are still uneven as you can see from the photos below. And, once again, they are telling me it is normal.

So, simple question: Are your hood/trail sight gaps even from side to side? The dealer claims that this is a normal amount of discrepancy and I can’t believe that. Thanks in advance for your help.

On mine, it's more the hood not being equal to the sights, the sights are uniform on each fender.

Looks like a lot of gap on the drivers side. Just look at all the exposed weatherstripping. Not acceptable in my book.

Your dealer is smoking crack. I probably would not drive it off the lot like that and I consider my OCD as under control, lol.

Maybe it's the light and angle but that doesn't look like mine. Your driver side looks like a much wider gap also.

Only folks with Shadow Black Broncos take pics of the hood/trail sight gap.
This is what I have.
I measured from inside of sight to lip of hood on the bottom, by calipers. It was not hitting the bug guard. The difference between passenger and driver is 2.17 mm with the larger on the passenger side.

Drive to the dealer, park next to another Bronco on the lot, and compare. Should be pretty easy to convince the dealer.

Mine aren’t “Mercedes accurate” by any stretch, but yours are WAY off.

I think I’m safe from that. But it’s close.

Shadow black for the win! Finding pics of them on here isn’t easy, so it is odd that all photos on this thread are the same color.

Thanks for the detailed measurement.

Did that already when I was there to pick it up. They looked me in the face and told me mine meets spec. That’s when the next step was proffered: having a field rep from my insurance company inspect it.

The hood needs adjustment and it’s not a big deal. Can’t understand why dealer is pushing back on fixing it.

Ask the dealer show how that is normal. As mentioned, compare to a new Bronco on the lot.

Yeah mine are off too. The drivers side hood gap is definitely wider.
