It really sucks to think that a replacement may just end up having the exact same issues. I would request that the dealership allow me to personally examine the replacement once it arrives, before installing.
You bet I will be inspecting the new top. And while doing so/getting that new top installed I'll be scheduling an appointment to have that new top replaced! Because we all know how this goes; the problem won't be fixed and I'll end up having to do warranty claims on multiple new MIC tops. Amaright, @Ford Motor Company?

I inspected my new clamshell. Dealership was good about that. The clamshell was fine (the second one, the first was damaged in transit). But I did not carefully inspect the front panels and mid panel, and those are the ones that have waviness on the side edges. I've only seen that problem identified on this forum recently, so I was not on the lookout for it.

You are correct about Bronco people experiencing this. Problem it is just about EVERY FREAKING ONE!!!!!! Not just this one.

Have you made any improvements because most of the 24s I see still do it. :censored:

This is a sore subject for me.
Just purchased my new Bronco last month (November) and had passenger side spider cracks around window within a day of bringing it home. Bummer. My dealer is replacing the whole top under warranty but Ford is out of the tops right now so will take several weeks. New Bronco stuck at the dealer shop and I will be off work for a couple weeks and it's just too bad.

The disappointing reality I just learned now that I joined bronco6g is this is a pretty common issue and I can likely expect my replacement top to experience the same issue down the road. That's frustrating.

What can we do? What would I do after the 3 year warranty?

I also hear the inside of these tops is cardboard? So cracks are a bigger issue then if it was all synthetic.

My Bronco's born on date is early June 2024; bought in October (just over two months ago). Cracks on both sides similar to yours appeared over the last several days with the arrival of a cold snap.

Brought it to the nearby Ford dealership (that sold me the 6G) this a.m. to start the warranty process. This was the dealership's first MIC hardtop problem. Told them to expect many more....

My bronco has a build date of August 2024, had it almost 2 months, 2100 miles and mine is already cracked.

I’ll get yelled at again for saying this, but if Ford offered a fixed metal (non removable) roof version of the Bronco with a manual transmission, I’d buy one in a second. I love everything about my Bronco except for the ridiculous top.

A guy in FB tried to say they were fixed. Then I brought to his attention about the 24s I see setting on the lot with cracks, he said they must have been early runs because the problem is fixed now. I called BS on that one. Now it looks like I was right by the looks of you build date. :(

Ford has had four years to fix this. They have no intention of fixing it. They're simply waiting for warranties to run out as it's likely cheaper to replace them than to re-engineer a new top.

It's probably time owners start contacting their attorneys general and the state's consumer protection division if there is one. It's not going to be a NHTSA issue until a safety issue can be demonstrated as a result of the cracks/delamination etc...if there's a coordinated effort, and we can get the state AG's to talk, that'll put a lot more leverage on Ford than complaints on this forum.

Start by googling "your state here AND attorney general" to start. On their page, they will likely have a consumer protection division listed.

I'm in Texas so here's our consumer protection division's site: https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/consumer-protection

'24 Bronco here. Purchase in March. Checked my top yesterday 12/03/2024 and confirmed that there are visible waves on the removable panels and a crack at the panel just under the side rear glass. I also posted on the other new thread. I have 18k miles on my truck amd will more than likely wait it out another 10k miles or so before bringing it in. Seems a replacement will not solve the issue. My question is, how bad will it get? Will it eventually completely delaminate and fail? @Ford what's up??

Mine is cracking in the same area. Noticed it a couple of weeks ago. It’s a ‘24 BD 2 door. Took delivery in January. 11,000 miles.

Dealership just called. Ford approved replacement of MIC top (yes, under warranty). But there is a several month backlog/backorder!

I guess we'll see....

2 Broncos, 1 Outer Banks, I ordered the way I wanted it. Problems with the top 5 times and left front axle 3 times. Ok should be a learning curve. 2 years later a 24 Badlands. Same problems under 1K miles. Out of $$$$ for a product that should be good and somewhat recall free of defects! Waiting for Ford to chime in.... 🍿

I did, Ford bought mine back. Bought a 24 and traded. Will not buy until they resolve if ever.. Jeeps have tops that do not crack. Gen5 have tops that are still great. Almost ready to pull the trigger on a 94. Should have kept my 91 Eddie....
