I do not have the link, but read an article over the weekend that stated if there was a strike, they could/would receive $500 a week (not sure if pre or post tax) plus medical benefits would be covered.

How many striking UAW members can survive on $500 a week, or how long could they survive before being a scab elsewhere.

I would think that the "brotherhood" would not mean shit once their take home pay is reduced.

They (the UAW) do have quite a bit in their coffers for a strike, but I have not heard what it will shake out to the individual employees. I wouldn't be surprised if the strike did happen, they seem to be taking the writer's strike tact and not compromising a bit. I can agree with aspects one both sides, but some of their demands are non-starters. As they should be. Hopefully they can come up with an agreement or prices on the Detroit 3 cars will get even dumber.

So Ford has 57,000 Uaw workers, at $5k a year in more pay comes out to $285 Million dollars.

Ford losing $44 Million a day during the strike? Probably over stated and with layoffs it will come down.

Uaw went on strike to soon, math says Ford can hold out 5-10 days before it becoming a double negative. Striking right now puts a bunch of people in the red right before a holidays. Not enough reason for Ford to come back to the table as stock is holding. I think everyone is scratching there heads at why UAW is being so greedy.

I understand UAW is trying to force Ford to guarantee EV Plants will be union shops?

The Detroit 3 over the past 10 years have a combined profit margin of just 6.6%. They've offered some very nice contracts. UAW leadership needs to come to their senses and realize that they're putting the future of these companies in jeopardy with such low margins. They must realize that since the reitiree bennys were scaled back in 2009, there are even more new combatants in the USA like Hyndai, Kia, Tesla, Rivian, etc.. It's time for the members to apply some pressure on leadership to come to their senses.

Maybe Ford and their product lines will be taken over (bought out) by one of the Japanese companies. Then we could have Broncos made by Honda. Best of all worlds ?
Would love to get a honda motor! It would last a long time. Sadly not a V8

The engine might be good, but the clear coat will be gone in 4 to 5 years.

I think you are being generous to give it even that long. At least it is environmentally friendly paint (smirk, shaking my head).
