Sometimes fuses just go bad - there is a reason most things switched to resettable circuit breakers.

But cheap Chinese fuses seem to go bad a lot more often than decent ones.
True. What I like about this type of fuse block is if all else fails I can move the cable over and bypass it.

I’m more worried about when they don’t go bad. Still have flashbacks to the 45 minute video on youtube where homie is putting 300 amps through a 100 rated fuse and it doesn’t pop. Meanwhile the heat shrink adhesive is dripping out and everything is so hot that his flir can no longer read the temperature.

If anyone needs high quality cables, with a variety of choices for insulation, with custom crimped terminals, all for reasonable prices, try https://www.batterycablesusa.com . They can also provide custom rotated lugs, if you just ask.

In my own defense, I'd hardly call what you describe "good" - but you are absolutely correct.

Although it can happen even on a "brand name" fuse - I got to see it happen at 12,000 volts a couple of years ago. Turned the ground underneath into glass.

holy Jesus, now I'm worried about all this lol. I'll try to find a quality fuse (I guess that's the best we can do)

picked up two of these off Amazon https://www.bluesea.com/products/5137/ANL_Fuse_-_500_Amp a little expensive but seems to be quality fuses
They have a good reputation

As far as the cost, it’s like buying a $450 extinguisher because it’s halon instead of a $30 dry element extinguisher. Sucks to spend the money but it’s definitely worth it in the event you are unfortunate enough to use it. The corrosion from the dry element extinguisher is no joke.
