I did the calculations. At 50 watts, for typical use, the antenna by the pillar is within acceptable limits. I estimated heavy on the duty cycle.

No problems with any interference when transmitting.
"Acceptable limits" of what? Personal exposure - or adverse affects upon unspecified nearby electronics? There obviously are no "calculations" to conclusively determine whether or not all varieties of electronic devices can be affected (regardless of duty cycle, RF levels, suitability of shielding, etc). This graph seems to be making recommendations addressing biological exposure only.

I only worried about personal exposure. I figured I would find out if I had systems interference.

I am thinking of CB / Ham .....
Satellite phone is mostly a different use case than two-way radio services like ham, CB, or GMRS. You can use a phone to call a specific individual/vehicle, or in an emergency to call 911.

You use a two-way radio for a broader set of actions, uncluding listening/talking to your entire off-road party as it goes down the trail, or monitoring radio traffic to find out about real-time local road conditions/problems. Many of these radios will also pick up the NOAA weather broadcasts.

Checkout my recent post here…

My FTM-500 Installation
I saw that! The way you did it, you would only have to run that ethernet cable all the way up to the head on the dash. I did seriously consider that, because - in addition to the FTM-500, you can mount other stuff in the subwoofer cavity, right near you mounted your radio, tucked out of the way. You get environment protection, access to power (that was the issue I had; current draw). Lots of pluses - shorter antenna runs, less fan noise, access to good grounds, etc.

The original poster, PhilB, stated "...it's about how it might negatively affect the electronics in the Bronco." So this graph could cause some confusion.

I didn't post any graph...and my comment about RF exposure was because of this statement above: "It also may be too close for electromagnetic safety."

For the folks that put their antenna on the tailgate, did you just run the cable through the pressure relief vent? AGS makes a nice pass through assembly for this, but it's pricey. Not sure how important it is for all of the vent flaps to be closed. I could also go through the grommet for the camera wire if I'm cutting the cable to length.

I have the DV8 overhead molle panel and that's probably where the radio will go. Cheaper and easier to install there than under the dash. The radio I'm looking at has a USB port, so that's something else I won't have to build for the overhead.

Yes, I routed the coax through the pressure relief opening in the tailgate. Just lifting one of the rubber flaps enabled me to route the two PL-259s without drama.

The trickiest part in implementing the two-antenna-either-side-of-the-spare option was locating a driver-side antenna mount. In the Jeep world, this is not a problem. But for the Bronco, I only found one source: MountainsToMetal:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CV4L18G7?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_7

If you install a tailgate molle panel like the DV8 (below) you can zip tie and dress everything to the existing, OEM harness. The picture below show it BEFORE the cleanup.
