Currently running MT SL's. They have held up wonderfully on WI woods trails and were recommended over E for that application.
Will be switching to Nokian Outposts in E before winter as the MT's will need swapping out. I am moving to a larger tire (285/75-17) and this is what I want for the...
Neither my wife nor I have ever owned a vehicle with an automatic.
In 2013 I tried a VW TDI wagon with the DSG and hated it. The dealer found a manual. Now that VW dropped manuals we will need to search for used models when we replace our '19 GTI. Since we've been married we've always had a VW...
$600 shocks (DIY)
$4200 M210, half shafts and 4.88 gearset (This would have been $1000 cheaper in 4.70. 4.88 is the gear ratio I think manual Sasquatch's should have had.)
$1750 Labor
If I wanted to stay with 33's I'd be at around $3100 total, no labor. Then again, I'm not sure I'd be springing...
I have a 2023 Black Diamond 4 Door Manual Transmission:
First season I ran as is.
Second season I lifted it about 1 1/4" (Bilstein 5100's) and went to 33" Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT's. On tight WI woods trails with the occasional rocky sections and climbs, this combination outperforms Broncos...
I don't know if there is a 5112...6112 is a 6100 Series complete with spring. 5100's for the Bronco reuse the stock springs...Hitachi, Badlands non-sasquatch, or any Sasquatch. Screaming deal with a huge improvement over stock Hitachis without worrying about spring rates, plus with height...
In general outdoors I wear military boots, Danner Reckoning EGA Gore-Tex if it's going to be wet but not over boots, old school McRae jungle boots if water is going to be over the top, Danner Ft. Lewis when it's cold. I want the ankle support so when I take a tumble I don't break an ankle.
Have...
On my '23 Bronco BD (original subwoofer delete), I have the Ford Focus amp with a Kicker 6.5". Polk DB402 in the dash and pods. Memphis Audio mid-bass in the kick panels. I am running a quality LOC under the steering wheel Stinger marine 4-channel amp under the drivers seat to drive the dash...
It wouldn't hurt, but...
I think you would have better results for nothing but labor and a few feet of good quality wire by running the rear pods off the factory amp, and using the Key to power the kick panel and dash speakers separately.
You might have the same issue. Before you start, I would align all the top panels as well as possible. The latch strikes are attached to the rollbar by three very large torx-plus fasteners. On one side (driver's, I think) the pins locate the roof laterally. On the other side they float in a...
Hoss 2.0 takeoffs for $400: You are gambling with premature failure and you have no idea if you are getting the proper spring rate.
Bilstein 5100 for $600: You are getting new shocks and are reusing springs of the proper weight unless you've added a bunch of stuff. Plus, you can set the ride...
With the 280/70-17 MT's it looks like I have about 3/4" of clearance to the UCA at full lock. These have a section width of 11.6" The Falken Wildpeak RT's have a section width of 11.5" in 285/75 and 11.7" in 35 x 11.5 so I think either should clear with wiggle room. Thinking is not knowing 🙂...
Thank you for this insight. I have crawled up inclines with only a rear locker and the 33" MT's without wheelspin where a Bronco Raptor needed to keep up more momentum. To be fair I was better at throttle modulation but I would bet the narrower tires helped there.
I will take a look and see how much wiggle room I have with the UCA's with the 285/70's. If it looks like I don't have much margin then it's 285/75's or 35mm offset wheels. I'm not worried about the wheel well line as I'm right around Sasquatch suspension height right now and can "easily" bump...
To your first point, the purpose of the smaller offset wheels is to clear the control arms with tires wider than 285mm.
As to your question, the MT's are awesome. Great on dry roads. Great on wet roads. Good in the snow (but not nearly as good as the Hakkapeliitta's we run on our JKR)...
Hello all,
My 2023 BD 4 door MT or is currently setup with the factory rear locker, Bilstein 5100's set at ~1.5" of lift, and 285/70-17 MT Baja Boss AT's. This summer, I plan on taking it up an notch, as I am running more difficult rails. The pan is an M210 ELD in 4.89 front, regear the rear to...
I can highly recommend https://fourwheelcovers.com/. Here's a shot of mine when I was still on 32's; I had to have a new one made for my 33's because they fit nice and snug.
I really only use it when I am teaching a K9 course as I prefer the look of my nice black steel wheel, I do five tire...
Using a portable now but would like to free up cargo space. However, your web site lacks key information:
What are the dimensions?
What is the mounting bolt pattern?
There is no full wiring diagram. This is necessary if someone want to use an upfitter switch to trigger the compressor.
It is...
