Hey everyone - looking for advice in regards to issues I've been having the with torque converter on my 23' 2-door OBX 2.7.

Around 4000 miles tried to get an oil change done and was turned away until a "rear main seal" leak was fixed. Took it to the dealer they replaced a handful of seals, and did a complete tear down/rebuild of the transmission. It was found that the "transmission front pump seal was leaking"

around 8000 miles I crawled under the bronco to see if anything was leaking and found red transmission fluid built up on the housing, not enough to see on the driveway/ground (see previous post). The transmission was pulled again. It was Found that the leak was coming from two points. Dealer fixed and got the vehicle back.

now I'm just over 10,000 miles and crawled under there the other day to see more transmission fluid on the housing.

I have an appointment this week, but just not sure if anything else can be done, I really don't feel like I should have to crawl under the bronco to check every 2-4k miles to see if I'm leaking transmission fluid. Only got it in December of 2022.

Is there anything I can get the dealer to do to look into this problem further so it doesn't keep happening?

Personally, I’d buy a Toyota.
You are absolutely correct in that you should never be required at 10,000 miles to confirm your vehicle still has blood in it.

They’re obviously overlooking something if this is the 3rd time it’s leaking. There are only a few things that can leak transmission fluid from the bell housing area.

Other than front support seals that it sounds like they’ve already tried, they need to make sure the front support isn’t out of round. I’ve seen this on a few 10R supports which would cause the outer area of the support not to seal correctly. Also they should be pressure testing the torque converter if they haven’t already to look for small hairline cracks in the converter/converter hub welds.

I had a leaking rear main seal and had it replaced about 1500 miles ago. Just checked and don’t see any new spots, but I’ll keep a closer eye on it

sorry dude :( hope it gets figured out

It would be very unusual for the torque converter itself to have a leak. The only converter leaks I have encountered were either a crack where the hub meets the body, a poor weld around the perimeter of the body, or score marks/scratches on the OD of the hub.

I am not familiar with the 10R, but the leak might be attributed to the front pump bushings (assuming the 10R has them).

seems like they are going to replace the transmission and go from there, I'm not sure if that'll fix my problem but it's the most they've listened to me in a while. Advisor was shocked I was there in September for same issue. Thank you as always for your input and replies!

These Ford techs are just like some of the IT helpdesk guys.

IT: "Just reboot your computer man"
Me: " I did 3 times, it kept happening, what is causing it? "
IT: "Ahh you know... Microsoft stuff. I can try firmware and Windows updates"
Me: "Fine, go ahead"

Aaannnd guess what it happened a few more times.
Had to CC the managers in the end to get a new laptop.

point of the story... raise it to the service managers. Give them the work histories/paper works.
Ask him why it kept happenings instead of just throwing parts at it.

UPDATE: I got the Bronco back the week after Thanksgiving and crawled under it the other day, about 900 miles since the transmission replacement, and no transmission fluid leaking. I am very hopeful that this has solved my problems.

I have noticed that it seems to be shifting smoother than before, not that it was shifting really rough, but it seems smoother.

EDIT: Should also note they did whatever update for the wiper motors and that is also working well.
