No lie, my mother still has a rotary phone in her house. She won't get rid of it because it works when the power goes out.

I think the duck thing is stupid. I know 3 jeep owners that HATE the duck thing. I bought a box of like 36 on amazon for like 9 bucks. I keep a few in the bronco an once in a while when I see their jeeps I'll put one on the dash looking at them if the doors are off, if the doors on on I put it on the hood looking at them.

If I still had a home phone, I would prefer analog also... And I install the fiber optic equipment in phone offices. There is something to be said for things that just work.
Unfortunately those will be going away before to long.
The companies are invested in digital, and either can't or don't want to maintain the equipment and lines.
