I am about to do a full suspension upgrade and need advice from the more experienced. Looking through the forum at torque specs the guidance is that most of the bolts that I will be taking off look to be a one time use and need to be tossed and replaced. How true is this? Do I need to replace all these bolts? My truck has 9000 miles on it and has not been offroaded yet.

I also do not see anyone mentioning anything about replacing swaybar links when doing lifts. Does not seem like a common thing with Broncos. I have electronic swaybar disconnect. Was thinking of going with the Rock Jock adjustable links, thoughts on this?

Was also thinking of putting on alignment cam lockout plates. Do these work? Are these necessary? Does anyone have issues with knocking out their alignment when doing hard fast offroading?

Parts I will be putting on:
King coil overs - guidance shows replacing upper and lower bolts/nuts
Rock Jock upper and lower rear links - guidance shows replacing bolts/nuts
Rock Jock Panhard bar - guidance shows replacing bolts/nuts
Icon upper control arm - guidance shows replacing bolts/nuts
Apex tire rods
JKS max tire clearance kit
Broken Innovation differential drop kit

Most of the time, this can be because of the bolts having thread locker from the factory and Ford thinks it's easier to use a new bolt with a specific amount of thread locker on it. Certain nuts have a one time use limitation too similar to nylock nuts.

I dont believe that there are bolts in what you are removing and replacing that are a "torque to yield" style what would require replacing with new bolts either.

Blue loctite

The only torque to yield items I can think of off the top of my head are the rear axle nuts - which only come off if you pull the axles out of the casing - which is not typical for this work.

And the front axle/hub nut - which you may actually want to get as it’s highly recommended to knock the front CVs out of the hub before dropping the front suspension.

(That said I’ve reused both those sets of nuts in a pinch with some loctite and no problems but YMMV)

Critical to wire wheel clean bolts and wire rotate brush females plus degrease with brake fluid and wipe then use the blue or red loctite. Good as new. I love the boxes of cheap white terry cloth Costco stuff.

Bolts have been covered…I have not heard of anyone having problems with sway bar links…good idea on the diff drop (especially with Kings)…cam locks also a good idea (I have some sitting around…hope I get around to installing them before I mess up the pins…)…good luck!
