If you are using an aftermarket amp (like a Kicker) - most of those can do line level detection and turn on when they see the radio signal come on, and they are pretty good about it. But it does depend on amp style/make/model.Would you still need that little doohickey if you’re upgrading the amp as well? Or is it one of those things to have now just as a precaution
I know with my Kenwood, I tried to use that signal, and didn't work at all. But switched over to line level detection and it works just fine - no issues. Forscan settings may have had something to do with that though - not sure how they affect the EN/CLIP signal.
If you are trying to use a Fusion amp or other Ford-OEM style amp, it seems to be hit or miss.
