I have a portable power supply for when I want to run it when the Bronco is not running.
Do you mean to say that you're powered off the switch when the truck is on, but you can switch over to your portable battery when the truck is off? If so, how did you do that? Mine is powered off the upfitter, but I'm wanting to add that functionality when the truck is off.

Also, did you bolt down your Anker?

I switch from the hardwired power port to an outlet on the power supply with a usb adapter. Right now the unit is just sitting on the shelf. I’ll tie it down or strap it eventually.

Oh, I thought you were saying you had it hardwired into an upfitter switch. Or maybe I'm still not following how you have it connected.
I was just curious about the battery bc I'm looking for ideas of how to tie mine down. It scares me having a 30lb brick sitting behind our heads offroad.

I have a step up converter hard wired to a upfitter switch with a port mounted in my Molle panel. I can unplug from that and use the portable power supply. So, two sources of power. I’m aware that’s there is a 40 pound brick behind my head, not being secured is temporary. I wouldn’t go off-road like this. I’ll probably just use 3/8 rope to tie it down. I think there might be a tie down kit for it?

Get the Peakdo battery. It will run it 4.5 hours. by itself and can charge by USB-C which is more efficient than AC power, and you don't need that big brick - or trying to find a cigarette plug.

Super clean way to power it.

I've been looking into Starlink. I've read it's very cheap if you go into standby (if that's the proper term). And you can still send text messages.

On standby you have enough bandwidth for text, light streaming, and usually phone calls.

What's the monthly charge for standby? I can't find the information on the Starlink website.

Thanks!

I may have finally found my emergency communications system/equipment. I just want the ability to send a message describing the situation. So many emergency devices are designed for hikers who are lost or who have suffered a serious injury. Not appropriate for a broken vehicle or being stuck.

I was thinking about a HAM license. It's the only other option with good coverage in the western states.

I bought a USB-C cable for the mini from Amazon and plugged it into an Ecoflow Trail 300 DC. I've used it for several hours and only drained it to about 70% charge, so I don't know how long it lasts. I'll be trying it soon to work remotely and hope it will last 8 hours. The nice thing about the Trail is that I can use my Ecoflow solar panels and car adapter with it so I can keep it charged if I need to.
