I've seen enough threads to know this isn't an anomaly. Maybe an informal poll will provide more data.

Feel free to also post with your stories.

Mine is documented here: My Sta-Bar Saga, Water Ingress?

Sorry man, but "seen enough threads" is still just anecdotes. Out of the tens of thousands of broncos with the sta bar disconnect, only a small percentage have had any issues. We don't need more of these doom and gloom threads over things that are statistically insignificant.

Sta-bar?

Is that anything like a sway-bar?
Sta-bar is just short for "stabilizer bar". Which is actually what Ford calls it.

Sway-bar is short for "anti-sway bar".

They're basically the same thing. Some people will argue with you that it's called a "stabilizer bar" when used on the front suspension and a "anti-sway bar" when used on the rear suspension. And in Europe they're called "anti-roll bars" or "roll bars". But whatever, point is... "sta-bar" is still correct.

Thanks, I had never seen/heard the term other than recently on Bronco6G.

I disengaged mine regularly during last year, which was my first year of ownership without a hint of an issue.

I’ve seen the doom threads about it as well. I do think there are some issues, but most shouldn’t worry about it. I haven’t done any jumps or crazy rock crawls, but I did a jeep badge of honor trail with it disengaged the entire day with no concerns.

I mostly use for comfort over ruts, but usually don’t use the feature unless I need to.

Which is why I wanted to get an informal poll.

Some people with this issue post all about it (like me) and some people have the issue and don't say anything.

You say small percentage but do you have anything to back that up?

This wasn't to complain about it, just to see if it's actually insignificant.

I had a friend have one go bonkers on his 21 but a battery reset fixed his. I have seen many with over heat circuits that puts the bronco in stupid mode because all of it is connected. I use mine all the time with no issues.

A small update, I am on the second sway bar in my BL and the newer bar has decided to fail as well. First one blew a seal, this one has lost control of valving - throwing a C1B03 code.

I am 2,000kms away from being out of extended warranty and at first glance at the dealer, Ford is not going to cover the TSB/Replacement, even though the bar is warrantable.

I said when I purchased this trim, if there is going to be one part on this truck that gives me grief, it’ll be this - and I hardly ever use it.

I'm getting an extended warranty specifically as insurance for the Sta-Bar. I'm on my second one and I got the Badlands because of that feature. And I use it.

The day I picked up my BL and the salesman was going through the obligatory walk through, as he pointed out the sta bar switch I interrupted his spiel and stated! “ that switch will never be touched”.

I was finding the nearest curb and touching the button as soon as I could.
