I'm not scared, here's an older pic with stock wildtrak 2.0 suspension on 35x12.50's. 20x10 Weld Ledge 6 wheels. Hoping to go to 37's soon, but since it spends 98% of it's life on road, there is plenty of tire for my needs.

It warms my heart to see there are no responses to this madness after an hour :)

OP: both of your proposed explanations are true, thank god. Bronco is a rugged 4X4 designed for off-road performance. "Rollin' on dubs" makes a mockery of it. Please get yourself some great looking 17's and go out and enjoy your Bronco the way Henry intended it.
You complete me 🥹

While we're on the wheel topic. Can someone explain how 17's became a default for Jeeps and Broncos while 18's are mostly on pickups? 20's only belong on Range Rovers and Escalades.

Also if more sidewall is good why aren't we going back down to 15 and 16 inch wheels?

1. Tire availability
2. Brake clearance

More sidewall is only better for off-road and smoother ride…. Short sidewall for cornering.
Bigger brakes require larger wheels to clear them.

I kept 17s on my Bronco, but my f150 on factory 22s wrapped with 33s has seen more off road action 😂

lol I love how everybody just jumps the gun he’s just talkin about 20’s hell a 20” wheel with 35” tires has descent side wall it’s not like 22’s or 24’s with 33” rubber bands stretch around them now that’s ghetto

I have looked into 20” rims for bigger diameter winter tires (other than Nokians) for dedicated winter road tires on their own rim set.

nice to get an idea how they would look from this thread.

I understand all the hubbub.

These bad boys are at a local dealership in my area. Nice group of people, they’re known for throwing these big wheel set ups on their trucks and suvs.
I see they put those big wheels on an OBX in one pic. Ford knew a lot of people would buy the Bronco for its off-road looks and never take it off-road -- which is fine as people should get what they want. The OBX is the on-road friendly Bronco with painted flares, leather, plastic bumpers, less aggressive OEM tires, stock 18" wheels, better for pavement, etc. Drive it around town and perhaps on the beach on the Outer Banks on vacation. Hey, to each their own. I do a ton of beach driving, but don't want luxury (or carpet) with all the wet sand and gutted fish in my vehicle. Ask any detailer what they hate and will charge extra for. Dog hair and sand in carpet.
