Spray some slime in the tire and see if that seals it up good enough. If so, swap it with the spare.

The conservative (but expensive) solution would be to get a new set (of something good, not Goodyear) now, even if it cannot be the KO3 you want, rather than running any more risks on the present set. If it were my rig, I would not want to take the chance that one or more of the remaining stock tires are in the same condition as the one that blew. When the time comes, the KO3s will still be there waiting.I was out in some pretty mild off road conditions (mostly gravel roads) and at regular tire pressure (39psi) and got a flat. Found a hole (although nothing indicating what caused the hole) so swapped to the spare. Got home and tried to plug the hole and then found another leak. Plugged that one (which was more of a pinhole) and then found even more pinholes. So tire is shot.
These are the stock Goodyears with almost 23k miles on them.
Now the conundrum, I'd like to replace them with K03s but they won't be available until August.
So do I get another Wrangler as a spare now and get the K03s later? Or get a set of something else now and hope the rest of the Goodyears last another couple months?![]()

I'm currently at 40k on my original Goodyears and fully expect to get another 10k out of them and do the same swap once they release a 35x12.5-17 KO3.The one thing that I don't know is how many more miles the rest of the Goodyears will last. At 23k are they almost dead or will they last a few thousand more?
Slime, and other products, may mess up the TPS. Read the label first.I like the OE Goodyear tires. They did great at Moab for the off roadeo. They grip, last for me and fling rocks. Plugs are fine. You could put in some slime for the pinholes.
Probably. Our local Discount Tire said company policy prevented them from patching a hole that big for liability reasons. Agree, it may have been a ploy to sell us a new tire, but they also told us any number of local tire shops would have no qualms patching a hole that big. Our call. Decided to play it completely safe and replace it with a new tire.Easy fix, they just wanted more of your money! lol
Slime says it's compatible with TPMS. Tire people hate cleaning it up.Slime, and other products, may mess up the TPS. Read the label first.
I’m in the Ozarks, clay, dirt and rockWhat kind of off-roading? Dirt? Sand?
Ah, I've been mostly gravel which does a lot of damage.I’m in the Ozarks, clay, dirt and rock
I used to be one of those tire people.Slime says it's compatible with TPMS. Tire people hate cleaning it up.
I'm not saying it doesn't work. But I bet you didn't like cleaning it up.I used to be one of those tire people.
I still recommend it to people because I've seen it work in a variety of situations that got people home.
Nope, hated it, but can't argue its effectiveness.I'm not saying it doesn't work. But I bet you didn't like cleaning it up.![]()
