Rough Country tailgate reinforcement plate flatness

How flat should the RC tailgate reinforcement plate be? My first plate shipped to me was bowed in the center by 3/4" which I told RC about and they quickly have another in the mail to me. I should get it tomorrow but I'm wondering "should it be flat, slightly bowed"?

If anyone has installed this did you notice the flatness?

As far as I know the tailgate has a slight bow. This was one of Hammerbuilt's selling points for their reinforcement early on.

My rc had slight bow, no problems with install

I didn't measure the bow. I assume the bow is because it installs over the hinges and is not flat against entire tailgate. But it's been a while since I installed

Take another look at your tailgate, it ain't flat.

OP just keep sending them back until you get a flat one. Don't stand for defective products!

It won't matter at all once you tighten the bolts down.

I had the same question when I got mine. It had a bow and installed perfectly. The bow is on purpose.

Thanks, I did a test fit and saw the bow is on purpose. RC could have told me that I guess. I've deburred piece, touched up the paint, and after drying I'll put PPF on the surface that contacts the tailgate.
